Post by Bluemike » Thu Feb 15, 2024 11:09 am

Between 17th Dec 2022 and 14th Feb 2023 we picked up 12 points from a possible 30

Between 16th Dec 2023 and 14th Feb 2024 we picked up 12 points from a possible 30

The drought last season was ended with a 4-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers.

Last night we beat Millwall 4-0

Just saying.

If we could repeat last seasons run in, at this level, that would be a phenomenon, given the squad is almost the same, bar 2-3

Yea, I’ve just posted elsewhere that Town are currently 6 points ahead of where we were at the same time last season which seems remarkable given we finished with 98 points.

Who knows where we’ll end the season but wherever it is our progress over 2 seasons will have been incredible.

Like I said yesterday, if we want to emulate a resurgence for an automatic promotion we have to start dominating games and win! Yes I said we blew it, but I said the same thing last year and look what happened. I’m having a drink, but I still have all my faculties in place.

Haven't had no drink in eight and half years and counting so can never be misguided or influenced by inebriation and while the statistic in question provided some level of interest I can only concur with the fact the team's progress under McKenna and winning the League One season until now has been phenomenal, you can kind of draw parallels with Ramsey over 61-62 but on a smaller scale of achievement.

Can't hide dismay at letting slip a what was it 12 point lead over third position at end of year and while we got a similar start over WBA and chasing pack right now the team is out of the automatic places with nearest rivals winning often and proving real consistent.

Taking advantage of upcoming home opportunities with say Birmingham and Rotherham with be pivotal towards the end objective. It's the easier ones that cause concern, they can just as well prove problematic or take points from the team. Huddersfield on final day should ideally be a Town win but given the circumstances we could find ourselves in on that occasion, it could well go either way. Only strength and consistency will see the team through.

I read an interesting stat the other day, can't remember where, but from the date that KMc took over ITFC have got more points than any other team (I think it was 199 pts) in England ,including Man City. Impressive eh?
