All Eyes on Davis

Post by Bluemike » Wed Feb 28, 2024 6:29 pm

Newcastle United and West Ham United are the latest Premier League clubs reported to be running the rule over Blues left-back Leif Davis.

It’s known a number of top flight sides have been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old, who joined Town in the summer of 2022 for a fee of just over £1 million.

Now, talkSPORT claims that the Magpies, the club Davis supports, and the Hammers are two of those keeping a watching brief with the latter said to see him as a potential replacement for ex-Blues defender Aaron Cresswell.

We understand Nottingham Forest are also among the clubs to have shown interest in the one-time Morecambe trainee this season, during which he has recorded 12 assists, the joint-most in the division.

Davis, who is likely to be valued in excess of £20 million by Town, is contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2025 with the club having an option for a further year.
Well if we don't go up I'd definitely sell at 20 Million, excellent price for an average defender.

Absolutely take the money! I rate Davis as a LB, but I don’t rate him at 20 mil. To be honest, I think if the owners didn’t sanction such a profit, they’d be deemed incompetent.

He's worth every penny going forward with assists etc, but as a defender ? Never in the 20 Million bracket.

Definitely sell if we got an offer of 20 million +. Leeds may have had a sell on fee clause added when they sold him to us but even if they have an offer like that would be too good to refuse.

I thins coming summer is going to signal a lot of changes at the club both on and off the pitch unfortunately. The only thing likely Tel reduce / prevent it is promotion.

Agree completely. There are very few who can do both roles well.

Liverpools Trent-Alexander springs to mind. Estimated value in excess of €80M.
