Hirst

Should we consider off loading Hirst in the summer if we get an offer? I know it sounds cut throat, but severe hamstring injuries are very hard to recover from. Just a thought.

I wouldn't think he would be easy to sell he's done a good job for us but is certainly not a prolific goal scorer, 6 goals in 22 matches and Moore has 5 in 7 saying that Hirst is young and should continue to improve hopefully.

I think we paid a million for Hirst, right? So anything more would be a profit. Maybe Sheffield Utd will be interested?

I get your thinking number 9, and in some ways, you're not wrong re hamstring ruptures. Very serious jnjury. He'll have scar tissue for sure which will cause s change to test muscles functioning....but I would expect Town to rehab Jim with the best evidence base approach about ATM and will have him s chance next season. I hope he pills through. I'm sure it was s hamstring injury that finished his dad years ago too. I wont be surprised if Hirst picks up a few niggling injuries when he returns though, such is he nature of the beast.

I remember Michael Owen getting a bad hamstring injury and then later on when to sustain that cruciate ligament injury...it's all linked.

absolutely - I just cannot see him getting enough goals in the PL, even if super fit.

With him contracted through to July 2027 we’d probably get a decent fee as long as he’s fit and playing again before the end of the season. This may prove difficult though as I can’t see McKenna picking him ahead of Kieffer Moore.

Most of our first team squad would be of interest to a number of Championship teams although wages may limit interest. FFP rules will also limit how many new signings we can make which will mean some of our best first team players may well become part of the squad. This could be the likes of Hirst, Broadhead & Chaplin etc.

I agree, also Morsy, Davis and think Al-Hamadi will given a chance too, wouldn't be surprised to see Hladky retained also

Hladky is probably at his peak but at age 35 next season he hasn’t got age on his side.
