Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
The way I see this is Philogen is a London Lad he has openly stated he wants to sign for Ipswich Town, along with Greaves, they haven't been included in the pre-season friendlies in Turkey, so as I see it going by the Hull City owner comments who stated he doesn't want this going into a bidding war he has accepted the £35 million deal from Ipswich for Greaves & Philogen Greaves has had his medical and Philogen will have his this week along with Delap and Ryan Kent, the players have seen the setup and met the manager Kieran and know its for their quality development, so hopefully it should all be done and dusted this week.

I put a link up earlier in the week regarding Ryan Kent and nobody picked up on it, he would be a very good signing.

Lol, where did you get that from, it's brilliant?Bluemike wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 2:21 pmTo the tune of Billie Jean.......
He said that his name is Philogene and he's caused a scene
Five teams heads turned with eyes that dreamed of being the one
But the kid may not be the one.
Ashton clearly told him, be careful what you do
And don't go around breaking Town fans hearts
And kieran also told him be careful of who you love
And be careful of what you do 'cause Villa don't tell the truth
Hey hey hey
Philogene is not our guy.......

I dont know much about him, seen he was at Rangers a while. I guess he can play across the front 3 roles behind the striker, add a bit of backup - maybe move the likes of Harness on.
I think he is a free agent?

I saw this about Ryan Kent.
After scoring on his debut in Europa Conference League qualifying against Zimbru, Kent's first team opportunities dwindled.
Largely restricted to bit part appearances in Europe, Kent ended up being AXED from Fenerbahce's league squad in February.
He made just 18 appearances all season, with just eight of those coming in the SuperLig.
Kent played just three times for the club following the turn of the year.
Jose Mourinho was appointed Fener boss last month but the Chelsea icon's arrival won't be heralding a reprieve for Kent.
Instead, the winger - who penned a four-year deal with the club last summer - is reportedly one of SIX foreign players who have been axed by Mourinho.

Yeah I think he's exactly that type of player but while not seeing him play I've read quite a lot of positive stuff about him and as you say, a free agent.

Hopefully as they don't want him and got him on a free they might sell for a reasonable price

Thst would be interesting. I’ve said for a long while we should be looking at the South American market for players as they’re usually very good technically. Fingers crossed eh !

If he goes back to the club he left to get more game time I hope he enjoys keeping the bench warm.

I know the do-gooders will say they've done nothing wrong and all that but jesus christ this league is f**king awful, no morals whatsoever, it's just cutthroat and I have to say I hate it, I won't Shed a tear if we get relegated, back to a proper league.

I agree and have been vocal on the point in the past. If he goes there, they deserve each other and f*ck him.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
I’ve only ever wanted Toen to get promoted to the PL for the owners sake so they can at least ( possibly) some pay back for all their financial input. But we’d need to stay up for a couple of season to have any chance if that.
But when you look at these ridiculous fees and complete bloody pantomime/ circus surrounding player recruitment ( for let’s be honest what are just young unproven players), it beggars the question why have we bothered?
As long as we don’t end up in monumental debt again I’ll be happy if we survive but maybe go down the following season - but it’s a tall order and if we do get relegated it won’t be for the lack of trying. Then we see what loyalty is really all about!

Liz, I am pretty sure that Philogen won't go back to Villa a club that sold him so they didn't want him and when a club treats you like that you go with what your heart and head say, he wants to come to Ipswich for game time and real development under one of the best managers for developing young talent, you might see the Hull owner say to Villa get lost you can poke your offer where the sun don't shine I HAVE ACCEPTED IPSWICH TOWNS £35 MILLION and that's final

I think there’s still a high probability that JP will end up at ITFC which would be great news.

Kent was tremendous for Rangers for 2 seasons. The last 3 he has been total junk.
If McKenna can get him back to what he was then Town have a player otherwise he will be gone next summer. Probably cheap so maybe worth the gamble
