Cobbold Stand re build ….. going to be like Palaces’s?
Someone posted it on twtd and thought people might like to look at CP’s released construction video …. They’re building over the top of an existing stand too… so maybe this might be the template for ours?
Have a gander anyway:

Good stuff.
Personally I will keep shouting for a more blocky design though, more traditionally shaped. There is the psychology about intimidation of the opposition team, it's why red teams do well etc. Don't make PR look too friendly!!

Quite amazing and very clever construction isn’t it.
I can see how this can easily be applied at Portman Road. The New Cobbold stand will clearly come right back across the Portman Rd and well into the current Cattle Market car park. But unlike CP’s design having a car park fronting the new stand, ours will be integrated into a new multiplex sports centre, I believe. Very exciting stuff and astronomical expense .
OMG Gamechanger mean business don’t they!

Can’t see the stand work happening for at least 2-4 years, have to be an established premier league club before we would make such a big investment

They did at the start say that investment had to follow success on the field.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 3:21 pmQuite amazing and very clever construction isn’t it.

Suspect the Cobbold project will be on ice to see if we manage to secure a second season on the PL. A tall order make no mistake…..

I guess it will be like the previous Atletico Madrid stand that went over the motorway.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 3:21 pmQuite amazing and very clever construction isn’t it.

I just hope and pray we get our sums right this time and don’t have to sell a team of stars to fund it like what happened to Bobby Robson's Team when we built the Pioneer (West) Stand and kicked off towns demise.

Don’t think that will happen under current ownership. We’re overdue on upgrades and infrastructure investments. So nice to have owners who realize that. I know some of it is required by Premier League specifications, but the work had already been started before we were promoted.Charnwood wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 2:20 amI guess it will be like the previous Atletico Madrid stand that went over the motorway.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 3:21 pmQuite amazing and very clever construction isn’t it.
