Given his record in PL management, I cannot see any other PL club taking him on.

Re: Other matches.
It is pointless changing horses now, the damage is done and what will be will be as far as where we finish the season. That is most likely in the bottom 3. If McKenna stays, learns and wants another go (provided he does change his ways), then great, lets get on with it but I can't see that happening. He will jump ship (as he was considering doing at the end of last season in my view). If he goes, there will be others who can get this squad promoted. The challenge is finding one who can then keep us up and that for me means experience in the PL. Ashton gets paid the big bucks to find that person and if he is not already looking, he is not the man I think he is.Charnwood wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 11:43 pmI know exactly where you’re coming from Ian but neither Leicester City or Southampton have managed to attract an experienced Premier League manager and both clubs have a far more experienced squad of players to work with than we have.
Who do you think we would attract and what would the chances be if a replacement keeping us up. To the best of my knowledge the success record of changing a manager this late in the season is minimal. I stand by my thoughts that the current structure of the EPL makes it nigh impossible for a promoted club to survive particularly if like Town you’re not working on returning after receiving parachute payments.
Also given the very slim chance of a change paying off I can’t imagine our owners wanting to pay out £15m in compensation to McKenna which would only be worthwhile if it came with a guarantee of securing survival.
I think the only way McKenna will leave is when another Club come after him and pay us compensation.

Last min og for Sundetland vs Boro, now puts scum just 2 points off those play offs... they'll be in the top 6 I suspect after the next round of fixtures....

Has David Raya been going to the Muric school of goal keeping, that was dreadful last night and not the first time recently.

Spurs have just lost Richarloson to injury again .... sad for him, but potentially good news for us if they've lost their striker again....

Watching Man U vs. Leicester, and they really aren't anything special, either of them!
Edit. I've actually tuned into a different channel, I'm SO bored watching this game.

Leicester scored just after I'd turned it off lol!!
Saw final result, but it was a poor game between 2 poor teams in my view. How the hell we didnt manage to beat either of them is indicative of our season.

Any sport that has a certain product in some forms of the game and not others loses its credibility, that bloody goal stands last night but not in the prem ? Utter farce.

Agreed, the domestic cup competitions should have no VAR in any of the games, it has to be consistent across all games, if not all clubs can field it, then its out. Just another example of how poorly the game is being run.

De Bruyner just put man City ahead. I think the Os have been brilliant tbh but this was always going yo happen. But they're nit out of it. So much fight and endeavour in them....

Re: Other matches.
The Leyton goal was something else by all report but have yet to view it. They made comparison with Radford 1972 but think maybe Manchester City had they been eliminated would have devalued the competition.
Millwall pull off a surprise win at Elland Road but Farke made so many changes for it if correct they were at a disadvantage from the start. Haven't read no report of game violence at the stadium but that were a score that would have caught many out.
If not us would hope for a small team victory in the final once more. Another Wigan, Wimbledon or Portsmouth to add to past statistics. Would include Coventry but today doesn't seem best suited to it.

Re: Other matches.
a last ever Cup game at Goodison Park sees a 2 - 0 away team victory. f*ck that, it's not pleasing to any extent. Wouldn't be so damaging if event had been staged at Dean Court or wherever they're at but it's a real shame to see last cup action end in defeat at one of the most prestigious time-honored stadia you could list. Missed a whole load of chances particularly second half but by then the damage appeared too great to salvage. Bringing back Moyes for a return, it were a questionable choice.
30 years and counting since a last F.A. Cup victory, it's insane if not regrettable.

I see Teddy Bishop got a goal and KVY got to kick a ball for the first time this season. Looks like Town OAP FC are still alive.

Blimey they're waxing lyrical about Plymouth wining ( yes, very good performas), BUT that wasn't the Liverpool team out there today. Not by a million miles. Clubs show this competition so little respect now it makes it worthless now.....

With 4 of the top 6 out of the FA cup, it opens up chances for another name to make the final as I see it! Ok, both finalists from last year are still involved, but I bet the likes of Newcastle, Forest, Bournemouth etc are liking their lips. While PL survival is key for us, but why not dream of going a bit further in this competition?
