FA Cup
Was just visiting with my old man a life long Bristol Rovers fan.
Discussing their season and I mentioned it was the 3rd round draw tonight and they had got thru their 2nd round tie and wouldn't it be goid if they drew Town.
Blow me down we have!!
Nice little family rivalry to look forward to.

Re: FA Cup
Good draw. I was hoping to get a home game against lower league opposition - hopefully I can take my son along to this one, probably be a good crowd but maybe not a sell out.

Re: FA Cup
Pretty boring draw but should be progress for us, can see fringe players playing. Walton, H.Clarke, Woolfy, Townsend, Luongo, Taylor, Broadhead, Al-Hamadi etc etc

Re: FA Cup
With heaps of good fortune after the extremely busy December, let's hope those names above are "chosen" and not "forced"...... With the way the troops are toppling, can only
Al Ham is playing because it's Brovers, and not because Delap is Al-Hamstrung-up.

As a side note I see the Budgies got a home draw too, I doubt very much we will both kick off at 3pm on the Saturday, one of them will surely be moved.

Re: FA Cup
Pity is we got more chance of winning / going through against an opposition team from League One or Two than had we drawn against some club name from the Conference or below.
Imagine in a sense we'd drawn another Maidstone or absolute obscure name from similar leagues you could see us going by the wayside once again or facing yet another colossal embarrassment. Bristol Rovers offers a better chance of progression, can just see us putting more in to it or not as complacent had we lined up against some team name further down the league structure. We could f*ck up against Haverhill or some beach cleaners from Lowestoft with our past history.

I will be in attendance for this one - sorry if I nicked anyone's seats!
Anyone care to share the best place to park and then walk to the ground? Don't mind a bit of a stroll

Also going

Is the main car park now ÂŁ15 on match days? I usually go early and park there myself as my dad is not very mobile, he has a blue badge but I'm not keen on parking my car on the road.
West End road car park is usually decent, and close. Otherwise have a look on google maps, I'm not sure what order they tend to fill up in! I usually go early, have a meal etc.

Re: FA Cup
I always street park with an easy escape route to the A12 going south towards Colchester / A14 going west towards Bury St Edmunds. It works every time for a very quick getaway. Last time I parked easily on Willoughby Road, less than 10 mins walk to the ground. Leaving after the game take the Belstead Road route to the A12 and you’ll be on the motorway network in a few minutes.

Re: FA Cup
I don’t think Szmkdocis will start, otherwise I’d say that’s spot on as a likely line up. Maybe Burns also on bench, might see 1-2 youth players.mendipblue wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 7:02 pmTeam I expect next week against Bristol Rovers.

Re: FA Cup
Random but any suggestions for somewhere for food before the game, usually go to Forge Kitchen but want somewhere closer this time.
Ideally:
- Family friendly, i.e classic pub food, relaxed setting as will be with my young son
- not rammed with fans, i.e less of pub vibe
- 10mins walk from the ground - ideally where a mobility scooter can go as will be with my dad
Been so hard getting tickets this year to home games, so nice to get another one in and then we are also going to the Saints game too as got through in the Ballot

Re: FA Cup
Question for the big lunch eaters pre-game…….. Serious question. …… (never in my life ate big before a game other than a burger) …… does the “food belly” affect celebrating a goal?
