Can see us tripping up unfortunately as McKenna ( judging by his interview) looks likely to yet again make wholesale changes to the team do the peripheral players " get some mins". I suspect he'll field "an11" which is not a "team".

He's doing nothing to build continuity in the team to help us going forward into league games. Mr Tinkerman .
It’s starting to drive me nuts Liz. I think by now he should have a good idea what his best starting X1 looks like and that’s how we won promotion last season although again it took him almost half a season before he stopped tinkering.

I honestly now, don't feel McKenna views it as the Town team. He looks at as " the group" or squad, as so will continue to " shuffle the group" each game. Ridiculous.

I wonder what percentage of supporters would accept a FA cup win but with guaranteed relegation at this point. That's a STAT I'd like to know!
It's a very interesting question.

Money v glory
New v old..etc

I'd take the trophy and a season of victories in the champ myself. But it's not an easy one

KM says that "Changing the teams in Cups has been an important part of our success". What a load of old pony.
But we have been succesful in the last couple of years and he has changed teams in the cups, no?
Depends entirely on how you interpret what he said.

Have we been successful over the previous 2 seasons? Yes
Have we been successful in the FA Cup? No
Are we having a successful current season? No

So overall, I still maintain he's talking a load of old pony.

Yes agree but most have played quite a few games in the premier, no Hutchinson but KMc did say a couple had niggles.

Had to google that...

Just for the record, I'm not saying that the reason McK won back to back promotions is because he rotated in the cup, just that he's entitled to claim that policy has been part of a successful strategy, because, well, it has.

I do remember him saying last year, that priority number one, easily, was the league, and I'm sure that's the same. But also, giving players like Taylor and Cam a start is surely a good thing for squad moral and fitness. And all three new signings get game time too. All good from my pov

Can't tell as dont know their normal line up. But likely high number of changes too as I believe they've played 3 games in something like 8 days?

Likewise, I have no issue as long as everyone involved shows willingness.

I guess the point is that because McKenna had two great seasons some seem to think (not saying you) that he must have done everything right, and if he has done everything right in the past, then everything he is doing in the present must be right too!

it’s hard for KM as if he makes no changes the fringe players would say ‘we’ve just lost to Southampton and I still can’t get a chance to prove myself worthy of a place in the league XI’

0-1 Town on 2 mins. A penalty scored by George Hirst ⚽️

We don’t get many pens let alone in the first 2 mins.

More woeful defending, Hirst just undid all the good he did for the goal. This zonal marking is absolute bollocks
