I think the buy back stipulated Man City have to at least match the highest offer we receive, I've certainly not seen a 40 million ceiling on it.
I think the way the clause is written it means that up to
£40m Man City have first option. But if offers come in higher than that the option become irrelevant and he goes at market price to the highest offer.
With Chelsea & Man Utd so desperate for a striker of his ability the price could get silly.

If that's the way it is then we should be fine cus 40 Million is nowhere near enough

City won't need him but might buy Delap to then sell on at a big profit I'm afraid.

I dunno, what sort of wage is Delap on?

Put yourself in his place, stay with Town, play every week, get a bit of those parachute $.

Or sit on the bench as a third option for a life-changing sum.

It's up to him, good luck to the lad.

Understand Delap collects 20,000 PW salary, with is significantly less than some of his team workers. For example Muric takes in 35,000 while Slicker gets a mere 3,000. Not sure about Palmer, either the figure hasn't been disclosed yet but imagine it can't be as high as Muric's.

Phillips appears or is the leading earner at 150,000 while key players such as Broadhead, Hirst and Morsy collect around 6,000, 27,000 and 30,000 respectively. Phillips remains way ahead of all other players, nearest contenders don't even come close. Can provide a link to verify if needs be.

I'd read the same figure for Muric.

Wonder how much of Phillip's salary we're paying? :?

They’re both overpaid in my opinion

Yep, call me old fashioned but if I am paying someone a wage, they better be doing something beneficial for me. Not his fault that he's down the pecking order but I'd have him doing something for the money. He'd be bringing me a McDs coffee and egg McMuffin every morning at half 10 for starters.
"Anything else?"
"Wash the van and polish it."
"Come on! I'm only on £3K!"
"You are very correct. You see those guys out there pulling up the tarmac for the new facilities?"
"Yeah."
"Ok, get out there and start bagging the sh*t."
"NO NO, Sorry, you're ok....., I'll go get you a McFlurry, boss! PLEASE!"
