Godfrey

Post by hallamblue » Mon Mar 10, 2025 10:31 am

Just seen such couple of posts on twtd saying they'd heard his loan deal had been cancelled. Anyone else heard anything? I don't think he's injured, but O'Shea went to RB sat didn't he...

Tbh Godfrey has been a bit of a disappointment. I thought we'd found a good player ( which he used to be when at scum and then Everton) .....

I can’t say I’m bothered as to be honest I don’t think he’s good enough for a place in our team.

He is crap and slow. Him vs Son in the Tottenham game was the biggest mismatch of the season.

No we haven't although for me Godfrey and Muric are disasters.

Clarke and Philogene so far pretty disappointing

Szmodics used really poorly

Phillips no way worth the wages, been very inconsistent

That's probably half the signings that could be questioned in one way or another.

Yes, very true. I think Mick Mills alluded to the fact that even of Phillips put in good performance for the redt of the season, it's been a costly loan signing. But there was no way if expecting a very good player not to come good again. Muric was never our intended GK. Fir life of me I don't know why we signed him given the obvious poor reports about him. I guess McKenna thought they could change him ( and Phillips?)

I must admit I always felt the cost of Phillips was extortionate but I did feel he would grasp the chance and relight his career, he hasn't.

As for Muric, I won't say to anyone " I told you so" But......

I’m not sure McKenna had a lot of input into identifying Muric as a potential signing. I’m sure I read somewhere that Muric was a technology /data system generated signing.

If that is the case, where IS he? Godfrey seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. Never mentioned. No sign of him in the IG training videos Town post. Nowhere to be seen on the hallowed bench. Never mentioned, strangely, in McKenna's round up interviews. All a bit odd.

I know twtd has its hard core knows but thete are one or two on there that do speak common sense and there are two, I believe, that have some connection with the club on the inside....and their posts about various things are invariably true ( it will later transpire)

Well if that is the case they can stuff data identification then can't they.
IF it's down to an "Ashton signing", without McKenna's input, then I'm concerned.
