The Czech's are a very good side. They could be the surprise package of the tournament.

If the Czech Republic do well it won't be a surprise!
they were at shorter odds than england to win euro 2004 at the beginning of the tournament

Most bookies here had them at about 12 or 14/1 to win, 7th favourites. England were about 9/1.

The longer the game goes on and there's no goals the more Latvia will feel they can get a point out of it... but I think they're just here to have a good time. I'd love to see them upset one of the big 3 in their group, maybe it could happen tonight.

They've certainly got the toughest group. On paper they don't have a chance against the other three.
But it's played on grass, not paper, so who knows.
Good luck to them.

Yeah, the way I see it is that they've qualified for a major European championship so they're no mugs...

I really dont see why it's such a surprise... any side who's qualified for the championships is worthy of being there, so why cant they beat the others?

I'm just surprised because the Czech's are one of the faves to win the whole thing!

Bloody hell, if they're favourites then the rest of them must be pretty crap to be honest. They're nothing up front, some lanky feck, Koller and a guy who rarely gets in Liverpool's team (although I'd have him down at Portman Road
) and their defence looks pretty average. Midfield they have quality though...
