Warning to everybody

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

Warning to everybody

Post by essexgirl » Thu Mar 18, 2004 10:55 am

Just received an e-mail with the address from dazza_ylt@yahoo.com.
The subject heading was "something for you" abd the e-mail contained an attachment. Do not under any circumstances open the attachment as this e-mail is not from Dazza and the attachment contains an virus. Be warned.

Thanks EG, I probably would have opened it thinking it was from Dazza

That was what I was going to do but when Nortons told me to delete it as it contained a virus I did what it said.

Wouldn't know hopw to track back, but have heard that these people are hitting all the footy sites. We know people on the Morton board have been complaining about these e-mails.

Best way to do it is to hide your email address in your profile (see the pic below) and to only give your email address to people via PM so that these bots can't pick up your address from anywhere.

Unless you've posted it on the site then the only way they could have got it would be through Dazza's email - is that Dazza's email anyway? I know he has a hotmail one but not sure about that one?

Found out later one of my mates who have my address opened the ruddy attachment!

Haven't had it yet but the amount of virus e-mails we get is ridiculous.

We've got Mcaffe firewall and it picks everything up and show's a map of the world and says where the virus was started.

If I recieve it I'll track where it was from.

This email address has nothing to do with this site and has nothing to do with me (its not even my Yahoo name) it just happens to be dazza this time, which of course fools everyone who knows me. What I will say is this:

Dont ever open an email with an attachment even if its from someone on this forum or anyone you know else where. What you should do is email that person back or PM them on here to find out if they sent it.

Just never open it unless you are expecting an attachment or you have spoken to the sender. (even if the email address is correct)

Otherwise you could be saying bye bye PC.
