I think you'll find the main followers are myself and Blumike. I'm no great authority on the sport by do enjoy an occasional day at the races and the occasional bet.
Just spent Bank Holiday Monday at Warwick Races, a fabulous little racecourse and one of the oldest in the country with racing having taken place there since the 1700s and idyllically situated close to Warwick Castle.
I guess from your post that you're a racing man in the states.

I am indeed. I go to a site that I can also follow 3 tracks in the UK and I was looking to hook up with people over there in case someone hears about a horse. Last year I was all over I'll Have Another over here and was letting people know about him coming out of the Santa Anita Derby before he got to the Kentucky Derby. This year...not so much.

Not sure what all the fuss is about horse meat, it's always tasted fine to me.

That's what the French say as well, mate. It's probably just a cultural thing.Charnwood wrote:Not sure what all the fuss is about horse meat, it's always tasted fine to me.

France is the only place I've eaten it and there was little other choice if you wanted meat. I didn't particularly like the thought of it but it tasted nice and was very tender.
I don't think I'd fancy eating thoroughbred racehourse meat, especially from a Godolphin stable where it had probably taken loads of dope but nothing wrong if it's been bder for eating in the same way as we breed cows.
I think it's more about knowing what you're eating and having choices.
