10K to MK

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

10K to MK

Post by goldandblack » Mon Mar 17, 2014 11:21 pm

Sold our full allocation of 8,800 - 12 days before the game . The campaign was for 10k as the title suggests but the pink and fluffy brigade have put a stop to any of that.

As the ground holds 30k you'd think they would like a bit of cash. looks like 1,200 fans sitting on there hands in the away end lol

well spotted Sir, :D
I cant understand why they build a ground to hold 30k, they average 8/9k so the wolves match should have around 20k there. there excuse is, policing, Health and Safety .etc etc.

the rumour is the disabled enclosure is available to first come first served, apparently 1,200 wheel chairs have gone missing fro the Black Country. :D

So we have had to change the title to;
8990k -Plus more then 1k in the home end -2-MK.

Come here and enjoy yourselves - MK Dons chairman's message to Wolves' travelling army

MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman today urged Wolves’ record-breaking travelling army to have a party on Saturday.

The League One leaders will be backed by 8,800 away fans when their make their first visit to Milton Keynes on Saturday.

Wolves could have reached the 10,000 targeted by fans following a social media campaign ‘10K2MK’ encouraging mass numbers to go.

But more than 8,800 would have compromised the safety of both sets of supporters.

The Dons more than quadrupled the usual away allocation to house the vast Wolves following and Wolverhampton-born Winkelman is eagerly anticipating the visit of his boyhood club.

“We’ve accommodated as many Wolves fans as possible and they’ll be the largest away following at stadium mk,” said Winkelman.

“However, increasing the away capacity above 8,800 would compromise the safety of both sets of fans, which remains our number one priority.

“I want the Wolves fans to enjoy the stadium and understand the journey we’ve been on. They’re one of the clubs we’re learning from.

“Don’t come here and be tense, come here and enjoy yourselves.

“The strong support is testament to the Wolves and we looking forward to welcoming them or what is sure to be an exciting game.

The Dons are expecting 18,000, which will break the league attendance record of 17,717 against Leicester in 2009 and could smash the overall stadium marker of 19,506 for an FA Cup game with QPR in 2012.

They need to win to keep their play-off hopes alive after losing 1-0 at home to Gillingham on Tuesday and are three points adrift of the top six.

And Winkelman believes the Dons’ fanbase will come out to back their team ahead of the final run in.

“We have got almost 18,000 against Leicester and 17,000 against Leeds here before,” he said.

“Wolves will be big. They’ll bring 8,800 and we’ll do over 10,000. When you’ve got a big game we’ll get the numbers here.

“Our average is down to 8,500 but I’ve seen clubs lose more percentage over the years because of the recession. We could have been much worse.”
