Re: It's over under time for NFL fans...
Some Americans are saying the game was "an embarrassing advert for the NFL"......, it was an awesome game for me. But I can see their point. At one point during the 3rd quarter, I was thinking, "this is rigged" ....., twice Denvers Cromarty looked like he was shying out of tackles which resulted in Cowboys TD's. Was strange. But......, for the spectator, (certainly the British spectator) it was awesome. And my bet is still looking very safe. Shyte odds on Denver now! HAHA!
Lions lose @ LameBlow. Was expected. They will turn over the Browns next week...., yes Ohio?

Marko, I have no idea how this game is going to go. Seeing how it is still 50-50 on our hats. I am wondering about a wager on this one.

LOL, Ohio . I can't even remember what the hat bet was. Please remind me. Same with Derick, forgot that bet too. Alzheimer's!! Who are you anyway ?
Lions win this week going into their bye week. Here's the bet......, the loser has to post a picture of themselves on this thread eating humble pie! Ha!
BIG NEWS THOUGH, OHIO. The NFL, agree on three games in London next year...... And one of the games could be the FALCONS V LIONS! I am praying for this.

sigh...if Ipswich finishes above 24th I win, remember?
Goodale seems hell bent on getting a London NFL team. I have no idea how it would work. Lets see who the three games would be, that will be interesting. How popular are these games over there?

Very popular indeed. I know two different sets of father & son who made the Steelers game and a friend of my son is going to the Jags game on the 27th of this month. Would be awesome. If its the Lions, come hell or high water, I'll be at that game. And if by some travesty I can't be at the game, I'll certainly be in London getting pished with Lions fans.

Alright guys, how's everyone doing?
The NFL games at Wembley are extremely popular. The tickets for this years games sold out in record time and the Vikings v Steelers game was heaving. I had spare tickets and it took no time at all to shift them. I fully expect the jags v niners to be the same. Needless to say I can't wait for that. Or the fact that I'm working with the niners in a couple of weeks.
Luckily enough I've been able to work at the tailgate for them all so far, and will no doubt be there for the three next year. Nearly every side is represented with people dripping in merchandise.
The popularity continues to increase, but I still wouldn't have a London team.

How do the fans respond to the games? Do they cheer when the QB is sacked? Do they follow specific teams? I've always wondered how UK fans establish what NFL team they support. Years ago, my Uncle said he supported the Giants because they were closest to England. The Don wrote:Alright guys, how's everyone doing?

Re: It's over under time for NFL fans...
For me, 9....., I started following everything Detroit in 1992..... Lions, Red Wings, (not Tigers, Baseball sucks) i loved the sitcom, Home Improvement. Detroit and its surrounding areas were represented in this, especially the Lions. ...... That, coupled with it being hilarious, and being a big Tim Allen fan.
If its confirmed that Detriot are at wembley next year..... Could I "possibly" get tickets from you, Don? Wouldnt be greedy, I'd just want 4 tickets!

Re: It's over under time for NFL fans...
They pretty much cheer everything, with no specific allegiance to either side. The atmosphere inside Wembley is electric.
You do find that the two playing teams are generally well supported. For example, two weeks ago, most of the jerseys seen were either Vikings or steelers, but pretty much every side is represented.
The most popular side is apparently the patriots, I would assume due to their recent success. As I said though, at Wembley last week I saw dolphins to chargers jerseys. I find it curious as to how their team is chosen.
sorry Marko, they keep me well away from tickets.

The Packers just did a job on the current champs, well deserved too in my opinion, score flattered the ravens.

Re: It's over under time for NFL fans...
Lions lose the battle of the big pussies. 27-24 Bengals. Should've won the game with ease, couple of defensive horror shows led to two Bengals TD's, and Stafford with yet another few overthrows. Can't blame him directly, he did throw 3 TD'S...., but I can't understand the overthrow stuff. I think that is differentiating between the genuine elite QBS and the others. Still only 26 though. Was a Ford Field game though and it was the Bengals. Should've been a win. Tad pissed off to be honest.

Re: It's over under time for NFL fans...
Very tempting. Especially with Romo being a total flap case. But with Stafford throwing to imaginery receivers, can't decide on this one at all. Away from home in Americas dream team, Stadium? I'm going to decline on the wager......, but still, GO LIONS!
Re: It's over under time for NFL fans...
The game is in Detroit my friend. I agree though, not sure about this one. It really depends what teams show up: the crap teams, or the good teams.marko69 wrote:Very tempting. Re: It's over under time for NFL fans...
I stand corrected. I thought it was in Dallas after they were away last week and Detroit were at home. Still going to decline the wager....., like you say..... Who knows what teams will show up. Romo managed 40+ points against the broncos, and even though it was a defeat, still pretty awesome play. Definitely could go either way at FF.

Re: It's over under time for NFL fans...
I may have to figure out a way for that one. Wish it was Lions v Browns.
BIG debate today on radio about London and NFL. The comment was made that if they would take a Premier League team and place it in Columbus it would fly because the EPL is recognized as having the best soccer in the world and the teams would be coming here. The question is would a London team continue to draw? I just dont see how it would work out logistically.
The big rumor is the Jacksonville Jaguars would head over there.

Marko, so pleased that you'll get the opportunity to see the Lions. We'll have to arrange a meet up when it's on.
I'm with you Ohio. I just don't get the logistics. There is a big enough following over here, but I can't see anyone travelling over there.
Has talk of expanding the league to more franchises passed now?

Re: It's over under time for NFL fans...
There is no desire on fan's parts for an expansion to 32 teams. That would be ridiculous.
Interesting there is enough support for a team there. To be honest, I am laying 50-50 odds of it happening the next 3-5 years.

3 games next year with three more the year after being scheduled.
I've always denied it would happen, although the London Jaguars would be the more likely.
In other news, I got to meet the niners yesterday through work. f**king amazing!!!

I did talk to him though. Along with Staley, Gore, Manningham and everyone's favourite, Harbaugh.
I was like a massive f**king kid yesterday.
