Murray

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

Murray

Now that Nadz is out......, will Murray at least make the final? Or will he stumble to Tsonga this time? Makes no odds anyway......, Jockey Witch will win,

I hope he does it, I care not that he is Scottish, he carries the weight of a nation at every event. Had he not been around at the same time as three of the greatest players to ever live he would have won several majors. I still think it will happen eventually.

Well i cant stand the guy, not just because hes a sweaty sock  but because he seems to be the most arrogant fooker on the planet, hes had more injuries than Lilleshall, and they always seem to come about when hes just gone a set down or about to lose

Take a look at the amount of players who retire during games these days, he never does that and seldom has the physio onto court either, yes he grimaces and moans a lot but that is just him, everyone is different.

I felt a bit sorry for Baghdatis tbh. At 11pm, Murray was desperate to play on, almost pleading with the umpire to let it go on....., a sort of, "come on mate, 2 more minutes, I'll beat this guy"....., not the sort of atmosphere id want to be playing in. I don't like him much either, and I don't think he suffers from arrogance, that's just him. It's his face. For some reason it annoys me. You know how you get some people who just annoy you even before you've seen what they do or heard them speak? In sport there are a few faces that famously get on our tits......, Craig Bellamy, Eric Bristow, Stephen Hendry, Craig Bellamy, Alan Hansen, Andy Townsend (voice & face) that bloke on a question of sport, not Tuffnel, the other one, Dawson I think he is, annoying tw@t, Craig Bellamy........., the list goes on....

Predict today's set scores......, almost feckin impossible but I'll have a go.

It'll be a 5 setter and Federer will win 7-6, 4-6, 7-5, 6-7, 6-3

I hope Murray batters him, more for the fact I dislike Federer than I like Murray. I confidently said years ago that he will win a Grand Slam, thought he might have won one by now but hopefully he does today.

How can anyone dislike Federer? What are your reasons for that Jome?

Yeah, can't understand the dislike for Federer. He comes across well and is an amazing sportsman. I think Fed will win today, probably in 4 sets. Would like to see Murray do it and he has a chance but i think Federer in the form he's in will just have a bit too much for him.

That was a tense first set, good to see Murray take his first Grand Slam final set...

Murray really should have been 2-0 up. That first set was tense and he eeked it out but he pretty much dominated the second set up until that last service game.

And he probably would've been 2-0 up had it not been the genius of Federer. Love 30 at 6-5....., bam bam bam bam, SET Federer. Superb.

I've said it before, just think he's too in love with his own legacy and is more arrogant than people think.

Aye, not taking anything away from Federer - he produced some superb tennis to take that game and the set. Shame for Murray though as he was close to flawless in that set, only really had that one backhand he probably should have made on break point at 4-4 to then be serving for the set, but otherwise he was outstanding in that set and Federer was really struggling to keep pace with him. The rain delay isn't a bad thing for Murray, gives him a chance to regroup as losing that set will have hit him hard. Sadly though with it now basically being an indoor final the chances of Murray being able to get the win are pretty slim.

You've obviously seen way more interviews than me so I can't comment on his arrogance. Always seems a modest, mild mannered bloke to me. Murray on the other hand......, I always need someone to wake me up after his interviews.

Well I predicted Fed but in 5......, never predicted 4 and Andy bawling his eyes oot. Couldnt believe it. Yesterday, I was chef for the day in my house, had the wife, my daughter, my mum, dad and my mate and his wife......, at the end of the tennis I said, "aw well, that's that then"....., then walked away to my kitchen. I walked back to the room about 5 minutes later and everyone in there was feckin crying! I was like, "what the fk happened, what's wrong? Has someone died?"......, was Andy fkn Murray greetin his face off. Unreal.

It was quite moving. He's usually so stoney faced that it was a surprise to see such genuine emotion from him. You could see how much it meant to him and how much he wanted it. I really hope he wins a Slam, it's going to be tough but it would be a travesty if someone with his talent and dedication ended his career without a Slam. I can think of quite a number of players with less ability and dedication who have won Slams in less illustrious eras, he's just massively unlucky to be at his peak alongside such amazing players as Fed, Nadal and Djoko. In a few other eras he'd have won a number of Slams by now and would probably have had at least one stint as world number 1.

Hey, I get as emotional as the next guy, believe me I do..,,,,, when simbas dad died in the lion King? Holy sh*t I cried at the cinema....., my kids were like, "DADS CRYING, MUM MUM, LOOK, DADS CRYING!!!"......., but I couldn't get into the emotion with poor Andy yesterday. Probably the stress of cooking 5 different feckin orders for choosy gits.

I......, am the warmest, most sincere and affectionate male ever. I'm in no way the stereotypical male. Now if you don't mind, I need to go get the wife to iron a shirt before I head down the pub.

Seriously, if my wife came on here and read that ^....., she'd kick my sorry a5s.

Ditto. A great performance and no more than the guy deserves. He is playing the game at a time when three of the greatest players ever to live are dominating and he is now matching them. How he managed to raise his game for the Fifth set was staggering. I have not seen a better set of tennis than the opening set, when you look at the conditions and the event etc, truly fantastic. I honestly think Murray is second only to Djokovic now and not that far behind him either.
