A well recognized and much loved chairman to the respective fans. Sympathy to his immediate family at this difficult time.

Re: RIP JACK.
Hayward was a chairman / owner who actually had the best interests of the club at heart - something which appears to be a rare instance in todays game, I.E. foreign owners such as Ambramovich who seem interested only in personal profit than for the good of the club. They're a rare breed today but Hayward was a people's chairman. Only wanted to see the club do well and put the fans before himself. We could do with more of him in todays game unfortunately.
91 years was a very good age incidentally, and he had an involved and successful life so take again this opportunity to pass on condolences.

Re: RIP JACK.
You could've picked any other owner, EXCEPT the Chelsea owner, Saint Jude. He genuinely loves Chekski FC. And the personal profit made from Chelsea to him would be like loose change in the pocket to the average man.

To properly commemorate his achievements it would be a fine idea to erect a stature in his honor outside the arena. I even imagined they'd consider re-naming the venue (i.e. The Jack Hayward stadium) over Molineux, but no, sure that won't occur.

nice thoughts Saint, but Molineux (the ‘golden palace) is his statue, he always said the stadium must always remain Molinuex.saint jude wrote:To properly commemorate his achievements it would be a fine idea to erect a stature in his honor outside the arena. some remarkable things this man did without wanting any recognition,
Baroness Rachael Heyhoe-Flint spoke at his funeral..
She told of his love for all things British and that only UK cars were allowed on his estate – but how he would allow himself some French brandy for ‘medicinal purposes’.
She reminisced about some of Sir Jack’s many charitable exploits.
How he saved the last RAF Vulcan bomber with a £500,000 donation and thought nothing of giving £20,000 to Joanna Lumley’s Gurkha campaign.
He spent £150,000 buying wildlife sanctuary Lundy Island for the National Trust, £1m towards replacing a fire-damaged hospital in Port Stanley and another £1m on helping widows and orphans of those who had died during the Falklands conflict.
She recounted how he gave thousands to St Dominic’s School in Brewood after headmistress Sister Helen Weston recited the 1939 Wolves FA Cup losing team.
“This was the remarkable nature of Sir Jack,” she said.
“He reminded me of a naughty schoolboy, a daredevil, but he wanted to be caught. He loved to play tricks.
“He used to ring the receptionist at Molineux and say ‘this is your lover calling’.
“His love of all things bright, beautiful and British manifested itself throughout his life.”
In 1994, Sir Jack got to show off his ‘golden palace’ of Molineux to none other than Her Majesty The Queen, who came to Wolverhampton to open the stadium.
But fierce patriot Sir Jack, known as ‘Union Jack’ had other things on his mind.
Baroness Heyhoe Flint recalled: “He said, ‘when she arrives will you go outside and see what make of tyres are on the Queen’s vehicle.
“Unfortunately, they were not Goodyear tyres.”

This guy sounded as if he was "one of a kind". And he had a sense of humour too which was just brilliant. Very much a "must" if you want to live a happy life in this world.
You will be missed, Union Jack.
