was an old Etonian.

OK his initials are D S. (1st 5 letters of his surname is a 4 legged fluffy animal that lives in Wales.) the last 6 letters of his surname spells out a shorter name for an ex Liverpool manager from the 60s.
unless you use the 1st 6 letters of his surname which makes it more than 1 fluffy animal that lives in Wales. which would make the 2nd part of his surname just 5 letters, which is also the Surname of an actor that played the part of Forest Gump.
actually forget the second bit saying, unless you use the 1st 6 letters of his surname which makes it more than 1 fluffy animal that lives in Wales because the 5 letter name also means more than 1 fluffy animal that lives in Wales.
so forget Forest Gump and go back to the Scottish fella that managed Liverpool in the early 1960s.
and I would just like to mention one very small mistake in the clue below. but I wouldn't think it made much difference,
CLUE ; he played for Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man United and Liverpool.
he didn't actually play for any of them,
was an old Etonian.
Joint chairman of the FA.
Chairman of the Football League.
Chairman of the ITFC Education and Sports Trust
Chairman of the St George's Park National Football Centre

Re: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE SPORTS QUIZ
Sheep shagger from Wales?
No there couldn't possibly be anyone with "Sheep" in their name.
Hmmm, let me think a little bit more on this one.

This person held a very prestigious post. He was preceded by Daniel Burley Woolfall, and succeeded by Rodolph William Seeldrayers.
If anyone can get that ^ sh*t without goggling, you need to get yer arse onto University Challenge. Could be a pub quiz question one day, you never know.

Re: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE SPORTS QUIZ
Jules Rimet MacIntosh is indeed correct.
Did you notice that you had "Sheep" in your answer and I had "Woolfall" in my question? Just wanted to keep the theme going. But please, no questions about Wellington boots and barnyard sex please.
They do say surnames have origins, ......... WOOLFALL? Where the hell did that come from?
Go on, make up a funny story on how Woolfall became a name.
Your question.

Correct Marco, it was our Ron, and he drove the fastest milk kart in the west, or was that Earny Reagan
getting back to this amazing story. it starts in this village high in the hills of Wales back in 1890,

Some random stuff about this guy, but who is it......
Scored 17 goals for Raith Rovers
Scored 17 goals for Sunderland
At one point, managed Zimbabwe. (The football team, not the actual country......., I don't think Robert Mugabi ever played for Raith)
Scored a very important goal in one particular game.

Re: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE SPORTS QUIZ
Well mate, I'm off for the week working up North in the middle of the feckin highlands, literally. No internet at all. So carry on with the quiz, put up some more questions and I'll see if you got the Robert Mugabi question right when I'm back next weekend. I've even had to put up my predictions early for the prediction league. HATE doing that when there are midweek games. Freddie gets injured at Leeds...... There's question 3 fkd!
Have a go at this question too :
This guys middle name is Darryl
His first professional club was Cambridge Utd
His longest serving club was 10 years, chalking up over 200 appearances.

Re: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE SPORTS QUIZ
Peter En Doo Love oo? A family member from years ago said his name that way as we all sat watching a game on Tv. En Doo love oo!
Must admit, I had to be told how to pronounce it myself.
Apart from all that, no, not him. Not Peter Ustinov or indeed the Russian with 3 balls, Oojanikabolokov, or the Russian with one ball, Ivor knackerov.
Another 2 clues;
1/ He managed Aberdeen FC for a while
and
2/ He is unfortunately no longer with us.
