THURSDAY BET Cheltenham.

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

A very open-looking Grade 1 by this week's standards. ALLAHO responded really well to forcing tactics back over this trip when a dominant winner of a Grade 2 at Thurles and is just about the pick. Fellow second-season chasers Imperial Aura and Mister Fisher warrant consideration, but last year's winner Min is the obvious danger if back on song.

ALLAHO (FR)
MIN (FR)
IMPERIAL AURA (IRE)
https://www.sportinglife.com/racing/rac ... 1-gbb-race
4/1
…………………………………………………………………………………
1
Horse silk
Allahot
Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: W P Mullins| OR: 162| D
4/1
Right back on track dropped in trip and high-class effort when readily landing the odds in Grade 2 at Thurles. Placed at last two Festivals and unexposed over 2m4f so he's a major player. Tongue tied.
……………………………..

Chris's Dream
Age: 9| Weight: 11-10| J: R M Power| T: H De Bromhead| OR: 164
25/1
High-class chaser. Failed narrowly in Champion Chase at Down Royal on return but ran poorly in John Durkan in December and not seen out since. Has won off a break before but this is asking a lot.
………………………………

Dashel Drasher
Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: Matt Griffiths| T: J Scott| OR: 162| C| D
16/1
Likeable front runner who has taken his form to another level this term, completing Ascot hat-trick with 2l win from Master Tommytucker in Betfair Chase. Another sizeable leap forward required though.
……………………………..
Fakir D'Oudairies
Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: M P Walsh| T: J P O'Brien| OR: 162| C
8/1
High-class chaser. Best effort this season when very good 8l second of 6 to Chacun Pour Soi in Dublin Chase at Leopardstown last month. Has good record here so he shouldn't be underestimated.
………………………………
Fanion D'estruval
Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: Miss V Williams| OR: 157
33/1
Smart chaser but without a win this term and below-par fourth of 6 to Sceau Royal in Game Spirit Chase at Newbury last month. Has plenty to find on form.
……………………………….
Imperial Aurat68
Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: David Bass| T: K C Bailey| OR: 163| BF| C| D
6/1
Festival winner last March who continued his progress with ready win in Ascot Grade 2 in November. Usually fine jumper but unseated rider second at Kempton only run since. Goes well fresh. Claims.
…………………………….
Kalashnikovp,
Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: Jack Quinlan| T: A Murphy| OR: 159| BF
20/1
Without a win since landing Grade 1 event at Aintree in 2018/19 but has run some good races in defeat since, third in the Denman Chase at Newbury last time. Has it to do in re-fitted headgear.
………………………..
Melonp
Age: 9| Weight: 11-10| J: B J Cooper| T: W P Mullins| OR: 165
13/2
High-class hurdler/chaser. Excellent third in Savills Chase over Christmas at Leopardstown but last of five in Irish Gold Cup there since. Has fine record here though and fancied to be back on song.
………………………….
Min
Age: 10| Weight: 11-10| J: P Townend| T: W P Mullins| OR: 168| CD
5/1
Top-class chaser who gained deserved win in this race 12 months ago. Scored on return in John Durkan but rare poor run in Dublin Chase last month. Sort to bounce back as he bids to defend his crown.
…………………………..
Mister Fisher
Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: Nico de Boinville| T: N J Henderson| OR: 162| CD
8/1
Smart novice last term who got right back on track with gutsy victory in Peterborough Chase here (2m4f) in December by 1¾l from Kalashnikov. Still on the up so can make presence felt.
……………………….
Real Steelt
Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: H Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 161| D
25/1
Dual Grade 2 winner prior to excellent sixth in the Gold Cup for Willie Mullins. Encouraging return for new yard when third in Ascot Grade 2 but (tongue tied) pulled up in King George only run since.
……………………..
Saint Calvadosp
Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: G Sheehan| T: H Whittington| OR: 167| C
8/1
Raced exclusively here last term, pushing Min close in this race. Didn't seem to stay 3m despite running well in the King George and unseated 6 out in Costwold Chase. Headgear on now back in trip.
……………………….
Samcrot
Age: 9| Weight: 11-10| J: J W Kennedy| T: Mrs D Foster| OR: 160| CD
12/1
High-class chaser who landed Golden Miller a year ago. Shaped quite well on return when third in Down Royal Grade 2 but poor effort in Savills Chase only run since. Needs to bounce back
……………………..
Tornado Flyer
Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: D E Mullins| T: W P Mullins| OR: 162
33/1
High-class chaser. Posted excellent second in John Durkan Chase but hasn't built on it since, never-dangerous fourth in Dublin Chase at Leopardstown last time. Others preferred.

Race Comments,
[b]Tangfastic took a big leap towards the top,
The Wolf's should keep to eating horses and not backing them.
Mr Fisher didn't stay on the hook for long and was a let down for most.
But the good news is, there's always tomorrow. :D and at least our football teams are more successful.

History repeating itself here. You had said people win big going by names only. When I ventured out into self employment way back early 90s, was a partnership with Mr Fisher! And your words above definitely describe the heating engineer version of Mr Fisher. Really thought the horse would've stepped up.

Sorry forgot again!!! Found this race really hard to pick, I thought it was just a case of which horse was going to show up on the day, lots of inconstant but talented horses, yet Allaho blew them away.

Doesn't really matter that I missed it, I would've only made a couple quid on Fakir D'Oudairies EW. Glad it wasn't the stayers that I missed as I picked the favourite there. Will need to find a long odds outsider to win tomorrow!!

I’ll have you know I only deal in top-end crisps and I’m struggling to buy one decent bag of crisps for that. Should have run the numbers for that EW bet. Definitely going for a 10 quid bet tomorrow on some outsider. Frosty’s to lose if he’s too cautious.

 her indoors buys 6 packs of crisps for under a 2 notes, sometimes they even taste like crisps, actually no they don't, :?

true story this, this horse was in the parade ring with the owner talking to the trainer, the owner said " if it doesn't win today its pulling the milk kart in the morning, this horse rears up and, loses the stable lad and legs it back to the stables, anyway apparently this other horse said to it " your back early" the horse said, " sod this I've gotta be up at 4am. :?
