The Alternative Football Club Thread

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

I had the Mk 1-2- 3 and 4 Cortina's. and the Granada Scorpion, over the years, the Mark 1 was my fav, all great cars.
Aw man, that is superb. That mk1 was an absolute cracker of a car.

Image
I bought a Mark 3 cortina,GT in metallic British racing green with a black vinyl roof, always liked that colour and one reason why I bought it,
After around 3 years I put it in the paper to sell it. My bro said " why have you put British racing green when it metallic Blue, check it out in the log book and it is Blue", I knew I was part colour blind but not that bad LOL.

The wife says yes the car in the picture this pic is green

Well......., not to go even further off topic here, ( ) ....., my buddy potted a brown ball last Sunday to start his attempted snooker break.
I was like: "What ye doing?"
"What? I'm on the black now."
"Naw yer no! 4 points to me!"

I thought colour blindness was a thing from birth. Didn't think you could GET colour blindness?

Haha! Seriously though, its genuinely easy to go off topic. Sometimes can't help it........, this thread, saw the cortina ad in the football programme, voiced it, you spoke of a "green" car which was blue......, colour blind......, potting brown balls!......., its just too easy to head off down that winding path of OFF topic BS!

That first one, Wolfie. Seen it many times. Often go to it for a wee laugh. I wonder if Cloughie contacted Revie in 79 after that Malmo win and said, "I managed to win the European Cup, Don!"......, then in 1980......, RING RING: "Just done it AGAIN, Don!"

All 3 though, Cloughie, Revie & Austin Mitchell ---- >> RIP

I do remember when Stalybridge Celtic & Stafford Rangers were in the same league. The non-league Old Firm.

Both big clubs not that long ago. Bradford Park Avenue as well. surprising how many old the clubs are down in the depths now.

Macclesfield and Workington as well

True.

My ex home town of Penicuik and the team Penicuik Athletic......., were in the 1970 Scottish Junior Cup final. (Lost)....., but still. Could become big again if investment were there. All you need to do is look at the likes of Bonnyrigg Rose, The Spartans, Kelty Hearts etc etc......, all clubs similar in stature to Penicuik.

Yes, its a bit of nightmare that. Was wanting our closest Non league side to get into the league which are Bo'ness United --->> only 5 miles along the road from where we live. But currently 12 points adrift of EK. Not good.

Linlithgow Rose were always a side hugely tipped to make it into the league....., they're only 7 miles away. The Bo'ness v Rose games can get quite feisty on the park.

Great stuff, Wolfie. I wouldn't have painted over those Lions...., They were awesome. And using the girl from EastEnders for the "RICAY" is hilarious.

True story......, only a few years back, (maybe 5 years) ...was checking some FA Cup 1st Rd scores and Billericay were in there. I thought to myself, "Eh? Why are an Irish team in the FA Cup?"
Googled it......, and saw where the town is. Near Chelmsford.

But

I asked the wife later.
"You any idea where Billericay is?"
"Don't know. Near Dublin or Belfast?"
