The big issue back in the day was heading it and feeling the blood running down your face because you’d headed the lace, especially if it was tied wrong, the print of the lace on the forehead was like a war trophy.
even worse was the boots, had to nail the leather studs on, when they got worn down the little nails would stick in your feet, and your boot was full of blood lol

Well there is a code of practice not to use obscene pictures and swear words like that on this forum,
its like Steve Bull's picture wearing a Tesco Bag aye, I've never seen a picture of him playing for Sandwell Town,

Laurie Sivell 1969–1984
Escape to Victory: The Ipswich footballers who made a cult classic
When Pelé, Stallone, and Ipswich Town took on the Nazis at the beautiful game
Filming took place in Budapest during summer 1980, and Osman's teammates John Wark, Kevin Beattie, Laurie Sivell, Kevin O'Callaghan, Robin Turner and Paul Cooper also agreed to take part.
"There was Kazimierz Deyna, Ardiles, Co Prins and everyone else," says Russell Osman. "Crikey, there's some terrific international players here"
Russell Osman, pictured wearing a T-shirt marking the 40th anniversary and in front of a photo signed by Pele, still has souvenirs from the film
Pele and other members of the cast signed the script that Sivell has kept

Re: Old Pictures of PORTMAN ROAD, & Ipswich.
My husband of nearly 30 years admitted, last year, that he'd never seen it. Not sure how as I watch it regularly but, I probably watched it more when he was away on detachment all the time, so that is more than likely why!! I'm still not sure he's seen it all the way through as he falls asleep half way through mostly!! My own fault for marrying a Celtic fan I suppose! What the hell do they know how football really anyway!!!

He should really watch it, The great Gordon Banks had a big part in production of that film.LizinSpain wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 11:44 amMy husband of nearly 30 years admitted, last year, that he'd never seen it.
