Can anyone tell me wtf Trimp is up to re Ukraine/ Russia. What has this war got to do with him?

I can't abide this apology of a man ( criminal), but how can he get into bed with Putin and say " a deal is close, and the war will soon be over". Just who the f **** does he think he is? Thousands of people have died as a result of this Russian war criminal, Putin. Yet Trump is negotiating with him.... for what???? Minerals that bong to Ukraine, a sovereign state in its own right, and yet Zylenski ( spl) has not been involved in these so called negotiations!

I hate Trump completely, and all he stands for. But for the life of me i can't understand how this arrogant, egotistical, misogynistic, rascist, arse hole is involved in an European war. Anyone know what's really going on?

Not only will it reimburse the billions of dollars the U.S. has spent for their resistance, it will also set a precedent for American financial interests…possibly resulting in security. I really have no idea if it’s right or wrong, but if it results in the end of a dangerous war it could benefit everyone. I’ll believe it when I see it, you never know. Look I’m not a supporter of ultra right politics. In fact, I consider myself neutral…perhaps fiscally conservative and socially liberal in many respects. It hurts to see such a contentious exchange between democratic leaders, but it’s being addressed and I’m sure negotiations will continue. Yes, Russia are the aggressors, but let’s face it…there’s no way in hell Ukraine will win that war. Zelenksky is speaking for his country which is admirable, but ask the everyday Ukrainian citizen if they want the war to end and the majority will say yes! It’s not about politics when people just wanna live their lives without bombs and guns. Russia’s aggression is reprehensible, but the outcome is only more lost lives. Swallow pride and reach for a peaceful future. I hope something can be agreed upon because the war needs to end before it draws the world into it.

As a long time expatriate from the UK it's interesting to see how people's views in different countries are shaped by the way the media works.

On this I think the British people would do well to consider carefully the US Vice-President's comments about European censorship and that of the UK in particular.

We are getting tired of dumping billions and billions of dollars into a never ending war over there. We have many politicians who love dumping money and weapons into Ukraine, and many are suspecting there is a healthy kickback for it going on, let alone how much money is being made to keep producing those weapons. And they are donating back to the politicians who keep making it happen. It’s a vicious cycle that has been going on for years.

Trump’s plan is very smart. We invest in minerals to recoup money. In the meantime we keep investigating in the Ukraine. This sets up a trip wire so if Russia attacks further, we have now vested interest in it. Zelenskyy doesn’t appear to want anything to do with it, probably because if this war ends he will have to lift his ban on elections and he will be out, let alone the money funneling to him and the Kiev elites drying up. Remember, he told Trump a couple of weeks ago that 100 billion dollars never made it to him. Where did it go?

Yet so many people blindly backs him because Putin is evil (I agree) and as Kamala so adroitly explained, Russia is big and Ukraine is small. There is more to it than that.

Well I didn’t vote for Trump, but I think that statement is a bit too much. Painting the whole voter base with accusations is not unlike the Trump politics.

Politics really suck. It creates unnecessary divisions in society. I’ve recently lost a good friend of 20 years because he didn’t agree with my Trump discourse. Personally, I don’t take politics that seriously. I agree and disagree with certain aspects of political campaigns…but I don’t swear allegiance to either side.

I try to remain open minded about social and political issues whether I agree or disagree. I’m not religious, but I respect those who have faith. As long as I’m not judged for my beliefs. Trump thinks he’s making decisions and policy that will benefit the United States. However, nationalism can sometimes scar the effects of diplomacy…that’s why economical ethics have been constructed over the years. Trump is an admirer of former U.S. president McKinley who imposed tariffs. But that was during the industrial revolution & minimal worker’s rights.

We’ll see if his Tariffs benefit Americans. I’m not sure it’s the right time to do this.

I’m not unintelligently subscribing to an administration. A lot of what’s going on right now is bullshit.
