All good here and hope the same with you and yours Dave,
Bit of fun and enjoy doing it, am working on two newcomers on here to join in, although they don't know it yet,
I know NZ is ahead of us in time but the Gold Cup is still a month away, perhaps i will put a starting date up.
the traffic has increased down here in General Chat (alias the dark side) so should attract a few more contestants this year hopefully

Re: 2022 Cheltenham Festival, Competition
Hiya BlueBalls,
Welcome to the Competition,
I've put the rules below to help. these are the main bits.
Both races are separate bets, so only the 10.00 can be used on each race.
Each day you have 2 x chosen races,
you have a maximum of 10.00 to bet on each race.
So you can bet 10.00 to Win.
or 5.00 each way.
or 5.00 Win + 2.50 Each Way. on each race,
you can split the 10.00 up, example 8.00 win + 1.00 Each Way. on each race.
.............................................
Rules for the 4 day Competition,
.........................................................................
Each Day you will receive £10.00,to bet on each of the chosen two races,
1 x Win Bet
1 x Each Way Bet
Or 1 x Win Bet plus a 1 x Each Way Bet.
(Each Way bets pay out on 1/4 the odds)
...........................................................................
Only the profit on your Winning bet/EW bets are counted. Does not include the stake money.
You cannot use any winnings in the following days bet, just the new £10.00,
The winner will be the person with the most profit after the 3 days,
……………………………………………………………………………………………….
if your choice is declared a Non Runner before the off, and before you can change the bet, your bet will go on the fav to win,
you can change your bet at any time before the race starts,
……………………………………………………………………………………………….
Each way bets paid out on
1 to 7 runners, first 2,
8 to 16 runners first 3,
17 or more runners first 4.
All at ¼ the odds,

Re: 2022 Cheltenham Festival, Competition
What i will be doing is putting up the 4 days on separate threads this week, when the horses are declared for each day you can post your choices in that thread up to an hour before the race, you can change your bet especially if its pulled out, if you don't have time to pick another your bet will go on the fav as a win bet,
have a look at the last competition in November. i think we only did the one race in that comp.

...................................................CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL TRAINERS
Looking for information on the most successful trainers in the history of Cheltenham Festival? Well, look no further, because our expert writers and racing gurus have compiled all the information you need to read up on the best trainers to grace the Cheltenham races – past and present.
Scroll on down and see who the best trainers currently, and who holds the all-time records….
...............................
...........................................................................Willie Mullins
The top trainer for the last three Cheltenham Festivals, Willie Mullins will bring over a team the envy of every trainer in Britain and Ireland. In half of the markets for the 28 races, Mullins holds either the outright or joint favourite. This unparalleled power may well guarantee him a fourth straight trainers’ title at the meeting, with the likes of Allaho, Facile Vega, Sir Gerhard and Vauban among his very best chances.
..........................................................................Gordon Elliott
Officially absent from last year’s Festival when Denise Foster briefly took the reins, Gordon Elliott will be looking to renew combat with Mullins for the trainers’ title. His yard claimed the most winners in both 2017 and 2018. Though he may not possess quite the number of favourites as his great rival, the likes of Minella Crooner, Pied Piper and Galvin could give him chances of significant success, especially on the Friday.
...............................................Henry De Bromhead
Henry De Bromhead was only pipped to the Top Trainer award in 2021 in the final race of the Festival. Galopin Des Champs’ victory in the Martin Pipe handicap hurdle secured a sixth win for Mullins that drew him level with De Bromhead. On countback, that was enough for Mullins to win, but De Bromhead claimed the Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase and Gold Cup in 2021. A repeat of any of those successes would be a prized scalp once again for him.
.......................................................................Nicky Henderson
The main man tasked with restoring British pride after last year’s mauling is Nicky Henderson. He has won or shared the Top Trainer prize on nine occasions, the most recent when he saddles six winners in 2012. He would be lucky to see that number again this term, but the likes of Constitution Hill, Shishkin and Champ give him top chances in a few of the big races.
..........................................................................Paul Nicholls
Six time the Top Trainer at this meeting, Paul Nicholls is set to have his smallest team at Cheltenham for a number of years this season. He won the top prize every year from 2006 to 2009 in the glory days of Kauto Star and Denman. This season, the veteran Politologue and younger pretenders such as Stage Star and Bravemansgame join Hunter Chaser Bob And Co among his best chances.
Current Rankings – Top 25 Trainers in Cheltenham Festival History
78 Willie Mullins (Ire)
70 Nicky Henderson
46 Paul Nicholls
40 Fulke Walwyn
34 Martin Pipe
28 Fred Winter
27 Fred Rimell
27 Jonjo O’Neill
26 Tom Dreaper (Ire)
25 Gordon Elliott (Ire)
23 Vincent O’Brien (Ire)
23 Bob Turnell
22 Ivor Anthony
20 Philip Hobbs

Re: 2022 Cheltenham Festival, Competition
...................................................Top 5 Cheltenham Festival Jockeys 2022
Jump jockeys are a hardy bunch, that much we know. But with that toughness also comes no little skill in the saddle and we’ve seen some of not just horse racing’s, but sport’s best competitors in this field.
The Cheltenham Festival has been blessed in the past by the performances of the likes of Barry Geraghty, Ruby Walsh and all-time great AP McCoy.
Between them, those three jockeys landed leading Cheltenham rider titles 15 times over the years. Collectively, the trio steered home an incredible 130 winners.
Naturally, the top riders are also given the top jobs with the most prominent owners and trainers. With that in mind, we take a look at those competing to become the latest leading rider at the 2022 Cheltenham Festival. Here are the potential top 5 as we see it.
....................................................................................
......................................................
.........................................................Rachael Blackmore
Rachael Blackmore
Blackmore didn’t just finish up as 2021’s leading female rider, but was the top jockey overall. She almost won the Cheltenham Gold Cup just to put the final nail in everyone else’s coffin.
Her ability in the saddle is simply not in question. The Grand National-winning rider is nailed-on to be among the top Cheltenham Festival jockeys once more with a number of top rides already certain for some of the most powerful operations in the game.
Blackmore is hot property in National Hunt racing. This is important for leading rider backers as, even when she’s not riding for her regular trainers, she will no doubt be in high demand with every other handler at the festival if she were to become available.
Nico de Boinville
Kennedy is another leading rider contender owing to his associations with Gigginstown Stud and trainer Gordon Elliott. Of course, Elliott wasn’t allowed to train officially at the 2021 festival, but he’ll be back in 2022 and has been busy buying up a whole new string of potentially top-class animals.
Paul Townend
While it was down to rivals Jack Kennedy and Rachael Blackmore to ride out the finish of the Gold Cup in 2021, Kennedy ultimately on the winner, it was Paul Townend who rode the previous two aboard Al Boum Photo.
Heavily associated with the all-powerful Willie Mullins yard, Townend will once again have a very envious book of rides in 2022.
Mullins himself will be desperate to have leading fancies in just about every race during the week, Townend crucially getting first pick of just about all of them.
Rachael Blackmore
The positive rise of female riders continues at pace and Rachael Blackmore is amongst the pacesetters, joining the likes of Bryony Frost in proving themselves as exceptionally talented jump jockeys.
Blackmore burst on the Cheltenham scene when A Plus Tard romped to a novice chase success in 2019 and she doubled up with Minella Indo in the Grade 1 Albert Bartlett that same season. Her alliance with Henry De Bromhead is strong and she provided a race-riding masterclass when steering Honeysuckle up the running rail to win the Mares’ Hurdle last Marsh, denying Townend and Benie Des Dieux in a Cheltenham thriller. She surely has strong claims of becoming the first female to be leading rider at The Festival during her career.
Harry Skelton
After getting embroiled in a battle for the British jockey’s title last season with Brian Hughes, it was interesting to see the support Harry Skelton garnered from many trainers away from his main job with his brother Dan.
He was handed leading rides left, right and centre until he successfully landed the title. A similar thing could yet happen during the festival as Skelton has proven his work ethic, as well as his skill and he, could be a fair outside squeak for leading rider honours.
