Wiki Links: Former ITFC Players
The forum is a bit quiet at the moment…save the twisted humour of GnB & his compatriot Marko. So, I thought it would be a good idea to look up former players in Wiki to see what has came of them after wearing the shirt.
My first entree is a fan favourite Pablo Counago:

Re: Wiki Links: Former ITFC Players
Great post No 9. Pablo Couñago was one of my favourite town centre forwards to watch and would definitely make my Top 10 list of players to wear the town No 9 shirt. I’d forgotten he had two spells at town with a spell in between at Malaga.
Whilst it was George Burley who brought Couñago to town after watching him play for Spain’s U21 team v England, it was Jim Magilton who he saved his best performances for during what must have been his second spell at Portman Road. Unfortunately the arrival of Roy Keane signalled the end of Pablo’s town career.
For a player who had only played football for his local team bar a couple of loans to nearby clubs his move to England must have been a massive decision and a huge challenge but he always played as if he was happy and enjoying himself which is why I think he was so popular with the fans.
On an aside I see he was born in Redondela, a small town in the Galicia Region of Spain which I’d never heard of until this past weekend when my wife sent me a picture of her and her friends arriving there late on Friday afternoon. Apparently it’s one of the favourite stop over points on the Portuguese Way of the Camino de Santiago which Lorraine and her friends are currently hiking albeit in ridiculously high temperatures.

It's just an observation, Wolfie. The post seems a little out of order for this thread. Also, I'm not sure who else I've upset?...I think me an Hallam are fine after I expained the female comments.goldandblack wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 11:16 pm
you seem hell bent on upsetting good forum members lately, what's your problem, just a question, ?

A two for one here……., Muhren for the pass, (what a pass) …… and Alan Brazil for reading the pass, collecting and scoring. He may be an opinionated tw@t, (a lot of his opinions are correct though ——>> IMO) ….. but Alan was a great player.

I always believed there is a line you don't cross in life, and one is to not call folk Scum or similar , especially if you don't even know them,

Re: Wiki Links: Former ITFC Players
anyway back on topic, probably more for the senior members but the one Town player who i thought was great to watch was Jimmy Leadbetter.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Leadbetter
1955–1965 Ipswich Town 344 (43)
Town fans often talk about the Crawford's and Phillips from those days but he was a class winger who doesn't get mentioned,

Re: Wiki Links: Former ITFC Players
My entry for this post would be Mick Stockwell! A very versatile player who played in every position, barring goalkeeper, and quite a rarity (beyond the Robson years) in the nunber of appearances he made for our club, wirh only Luke Chambers coming anywhere near.

Frans is certainly one of my favourite players from the halcyon years, but there were so many brilliant players from those years.
