New 3rd "blackout" kit
I see a new "blackout" 3rd kit has been revealed!
https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2022/august ... t-gallery/
After the black strip last year which didn't go on public sale, I can see this being a popular option!
Am in two minds now as I was considering buying the red/black away kit which I think looks fantastic, but this has given me food for thought!

There is a promotional Twitter video in this piece which shows the blackout strip even better!

Took the plunge and pre-ordered mine last night! Trouble is I really like the Red/black away strip too, but had to settle for one or the other!

Re: New 3rd "blackout" kit
Apparently the online Town shop crashed. Someone was 1,354 in the queue yesterday.
I’ve mixed feelings about it tbh. It’s black…. Not really a girlie colour, one more for the boys perhaps? Maybe I’ll think differently when I see it F2F ….. the other thing is , when will think strip ever be used by the team, and doesn’t 8t smack of pure money marking by the club off its own fans? Yes I realise it’s a personal choice to buy it , but some parents may have kids or yoofs who are “ want, must have “ etc, and these shirts aren’t cheap.
I can also see that this is a money spinner for our shirt sponsor Ed….. nothing wrong in that market I suppose. So commercially very astute, but sits a little uncomfortable with me for some reason.
….I’ll probably go and but it now !!

Clubs are supposed to make money from their fans, Hallam. Its business. There will definitely be a market for the black strip so great little income for the club.
Magical Vegas on the other hand……. Yes. Complete pi$$ take. Hoping none of you purchased that POS.

I do agree with your points but I'm sure Ed doean't need to actually make any money from us, more like he's putting something back into his club like I'm sure the rest of us would do if we had his sort of money in the bank.
Also, does that make me a "yoof" because I NEED, WANT, MUST HAVE??? If it does I'll take it as I'm almost 54!! Which reminds me, must tell my sister to expect a parcel for me soon and to put it in a safe place until I get over to pick it up!!

Re: New 3rd "blackout" kit
I just ordered mine...decided to eat the shipping cost because the shirt is so delicious! Admittedly, it's the first ITFC item I've purchased in years! From my perspective, I think it's a statement on where the club is now and where we're going. I can't wait to wear my blackout shirt in the USA, and I'll happily explain to people who ITFC are!
COYB!!!!

Always a great feeling, 9. Even better feeling when fellow fans are overwhelmed when they see their colours in another part of the world…….. Wearing Hibs top in Circular Quay in Sydney back in early 2000’s.
Guy was like……. “WHOA!!! A HIBEE.” He actually almost started crying……. And he bought me and the Mrs burgers
Course…… thankfully wasn’t a jambo. He’d have thrown his already purchased burger at us.

Re: New 3rd "blackout" kit
Call me wierd but im on the fence with this one, saying that I will probably end up buying one.
I bought one of the pink short sleeved goalie shirts last season so not doing myself a lot of favours there eh lol.
Can see alot of young Ed Sheeran fans wanting this as black is a cool look, if it all helps promote Town and gets us some extra money then all good.

First shirt I have gone for in years as well! (Last time I think it was the black shirt back in the EON days!!)
Popped up in my timeline yesterday and I just had to jump straight on it. The 'blacked out' aspect really appeals for some reason.

Yer, I know, but I wonder if it’s likely to sell big amongst the world wide Ed Sheeran fan base too.marko69 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 1:12 pmClubs are supposed to make money from their fans, Hallam. The Club are on a commercial uplift having such a big World level star as a big fan of the club.
…. And to think the narwich fans once believed
(were convinced!) he was a fan of their tin pot club. LOL !

Re: New 3rd "blackout" kit
I think the cool thing (from a 50+ oldie ) about this shirt, and something which certainly appealed to me, and that is it almost doesn't look like a football shirt alone! I think this twitter video with Ed wearing proves that point! Can see a few of Ed's superfans (among his 40M Instagram and 18m Twitter followers) coughing up to buy this!hallamblue wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 6:26 pmYer, I know, but I wonder if it’s likely to sell big amongst the world wide Ed Sheeran fan base too.marko69 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 1:12 pmClubs are supposed to make money from their fans, Hallam. Has anyone ordered the shirt from the online shop? I ordered mine more than a week ago, and it still says ON HOLD!

Re: New 3rd "blackout" kit
Mine has been dispatched today, a nice surprise for when I get back from Scotland!
I did see someone wearing one at the recent Bristol Rovers game and while at a distance, it did not look quite as amazing! Bit like these adverts for takeaway foods - if only they looked anywhere near as appetising when you actually buy one!

Re: New 3rd "blackout" kit
I love the shirt! I like the different material at the end of the sleeves. It’s really a sharp shirt. I just hope I’m not accused of being a predator when the teeny boppers think I’m an Ed Sheeran fan!
16 yr old teeny bopper: “Hey creepy old guy, you like Sheeran? You’re cool!”
Oh dear.

Does anyone have a sense of humour on this forum? Dear oh dear…what a boring website this has become.
