I’d say the whole infrastructure is Mike. McKenna, coach8mg staff, recruitment staff, science analysis team, medical team…. It’s a proper club now isn’t it.

Totally agree Hallam.
Best signing for me has been Game Changer 20 in all honesty, their the ones with Ashton getting this right.(I still don't believe Cook was wanted by Game Changer 20, but had to show solidarity with Evans, or the deal might not have happened)

Yes I think in the cold light of day and now the dust has settled on it all, I’d say this is probably the truth of it KLB.K L Blue wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 7:59 pmhallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 7:22 pmI’d say the whole infrastructure is Mike. It’s practically mouth watering what this squad will be capable of as the months tick by and they ……..fully…………gel! God, if we don’t manage to get promoted with this squad, then there’s somethings wrong with the game isn’t there.
Oops , that’s the kiss of death right there! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This is all very true, Hallam......, but apparently there is news just breaking......., Mark Ashton wants his Bunsen Burner back.hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 7:22 pmI’d say the whole infrastructure is Mike. Re: Rumors' & Transfers - Summer 2022
slighty off piste all so apologies, cannot decide whether to come to PR for the Pompey/Derby game next month or Posh in December?
Need to see a game and feel that atmosphere on a Sat game.

I'll be at the Derby match, but I don't think you can go wrong with either, Posh could be spicy as their fans are quite hardcore. Probably warmer in October though

Oh and I feel good about these 2 signings, the striker is good as he is young so no pressure and we can still give Ladapo some chances to come good.
The Plymouth CM is very well regarded by their fans, but his goal/assist record doesn't seem amazing? Maybe he is like Aluko? i.e not great on paper but a baller in real life?

Re: Rumors' & Transfers - Summer 2022
cheers Shabba, I think now we have cover all over the place which we are going to need when the injuries and games are coming thick and fast.
Looking forwards to seeing what these boys can do, do you think they will take any part in the Accrington game or will KM give them time to adjust?

I’d be surprised if they walk straight into the team.Dazzz67 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:25 pmcheers Shabba, I think now we have cover all over the place which we are going to need when the injuries and games are coming thick and fast.

Regarding the signings, I think any signing has its risks. Think of strikers we’re have signed who haven’t done much, then left and been successful. There’s no guarantee they will come good. But what I think is significant is that we have not had the scatter gun approach of the past, where we bring in players because they are available. Whether they succeed or not, we are signing players of a type, who fit into a plan but at the same time complement each other to give us different options from match to match or even within a match. Regardless of how the season goes, we have a plan, a style, and an ability to change things -as well as having cover in every position

Charlton Athletic have seen a deadline day loan move for Macauley Bonne fall through. I feel sorry for him after all he is one of us.

Re: Rumors' & Transfers - Summer 2022
He still could…… on loan! But I doubt it now.
Just WHAT a squad we have now. OMG I can’t believe the absolute quality we have. And they will only get better as the season progresses. If we don’t go up this season, then we never will. The really scary thing is, this squad is probably already a very good Championship squad ( having watched the championship games this week), Town’s level of football appears way above what these teams were producing!

Yep, that was the difference Marko, I say it while he's still here, no fence sitting and jumping on the bandwagon from me.

I hope the Plymouth lad follows in the footsteps of the last Two we signed from the Pilgrims, a certain Paul Mariner & David Norris.shabba wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:12 pmOh and I feel good about these 2 signings, the striker is good as he is young so no pressure and we can still give Ladapo some chances to come good.

Re: Rumors' & Transfers - Summer 2022
Yep, was just thinking yesterday there's an air of football intellectualism growing at ITFC. Hopefully, it will be the foundation for better things to come. More and more I'm thinking Cook definitley did not fit the mould of what Ashton and the Americans were looking for. We now have the brains, infrastructure and finanial backing to be successful again. All we need now is for the squad to earn thier paychecks and get us out of this league...and that's just the first step.
Happy with the signings...two areas we needed cover for.
COYB!

Re: Rumors' & Transfers - Summer 2022
Yesterday just highlighted both much depth there is in our squad and how much the squad was strengthened during the summer.
Our subs yesterday were Ladapo, Chaplin, Leigh, Ball and Ahadme, all of who would be starters in almost every other League 1 team.

Aluko out injured, too.... but no place in the 18 for Edmundson, Edwards, KVY, Humphreys and the new boy Camara.
El mizouni, Ndaba, Harper, Baggott, Penney all out on loans with league clubs. There's competition for places.

It's possible that a team who were stuck in unfashionable league 1 could be playing a team who a few years ago were the toast of football by winning the Premier league and mixing it with the big boys in Europe in champions league nxt season ..Ipswich v Leicester.

Anyone (charnwood) got a pinky on the pulse regarding Leicester?

Lol ……re lil pinky !
Football is cyclical isn’t it. I fear Leicester are on the downward slope and about to lose their better players…. Maybe even their manager come the end of season?
What you reckon Andy?

Yes just seen that . Watched their game vs Bwighton and that team is toxic right now isn’t it . Never seen so much infighting amongst players. I’d say BR is better out of it . He won’t be out of work long .bluejacko wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 4:07 pmWhy wait to the end of the season? He has gone today!hallamblue wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 7:41 amLol ……re lil pinky !

If I was you I’d do the Pompey / derby games , they’ll be better games in my humble view .
