So much for Keogh coming on to prop up the defence. For me Walton looked suspect again, but we’re now on 90 + 9

Forget the Forwards, Forget whether Freddie or Tyreece John-Jules start but that is naïve

Morsy hit the CORNER.. Kill the game, That is awful from then on to the defence.. What are they doing. This is not our attacking its the idiotic defending

wtf, cant close out matches and hold onto leads. 2 goals up twice and lose the lead, very poor. Not the first time. Something for McKenna to fix big time.

What's going to happen is a bit of discontent in the dressing room..I hope not..for all the goals flying in .our backs cant defend ..and now you will have words Been spoken to by all and sundry ..if mckenna doesn't handle this ..a split could come amongst the players..I hpe not

Its not just the CB's, don't forget one scored. Goalkeeper do not come out with glory nor does the midfield. Charlton scored their 4th goal from us having it in their penalty area in the last minute!!.

We attack as a team and defend as a team. To be fair so far up to this game we have been fairly solid defensively. Today was totally shocking so not having a gut reaction.. Do not Town let this happen again

Just how many two goal leads in this division has any team let slip? Now we have the ‘honour’ of doing it bloody twice in one game! Utter embarrassment!!!

Yes, after 0-2 and 2-4, this’ll feel like a crushing defeat for fans leaving Portman Road today.

Sounded like a blinder of a game, four goals away from home, people were saying they'd be happy with 1-1 we drew away from home, disappointing not to win & where did the extra 9 minutes come from, has Fergy got shares in Charlton.

At least they are close to home Marko - imagine what it is like for the ones actually at the Valley! 😂

There were 6 added minutes as a combination of injuries, substitutions and a bit of time wasting. Three goals in those 6 added minutes leads to more added time. That’s how it is. No complaints over that.

Struggled to watch as for some reason my VPN kicks me off every 15 minutes saying I’m not eligible to watch so I have to log out and back in again. And my son’s girlfriend came over with a new puppy. But from what I managed to see we still don’t build like we used to. We are ok and scored some decent goals but conceding 4 is always poor.
We really restricted them to very few chances first half, it’s difficult to see what went wrong. Keeper error for at least one of them, possibly more. But we shouldn’t be alerting them to have chances.

I've never known there to be so many injury time goals, when was the last time we had a 4-4 ?,I'm sure it's happened before.

We drew 4-4 at Derby once when we led 1-4 at half time.

I can’t think of any others but I’m sure there will be.

I don't, Mike - I don't blame the players for making mistakes. If they were good enough not to make a mistake, then they would be playing higher up the pyramid than the third tier.

I know I'm going to get lambasted for this, but I don't care, because I lay the blame squarely at the manager. Not necessarily for his rotation policy (which I still maintain is not a good one for this level), neither for his insistence on making multiple substitutions just because he can (for me, the game turned today when he made the triple substitution, although in fairness Ladapo should have been played from the start).

To throw away a 2-goal lead once is poor, to throw it away twice in the same game is unforgiveable, to throw away a 2-goal lead 3 times in 2 games indicates that something is very wrong.

To put it simply, I think KM is guilty of overthinking the game. We're not Man Utd or Spurs, at the top level and with a squad of superstars. We're Ipswich, playing in the third tier. Admittedly we have one of the best squads at that level, but it's still the third tier.

At the start of this thread, there was a certain amount of postulating about whether we played 3 at the back or 4. We certainly seem to always start with 3, but we seem to revert to 4 during some games. I paid special attention today, and it seemed to me that we changed it at least 8 times. That's what I mean about overthinking the game - players at this level are simply not good enough to make such changes so often. It ends up with a defence that doesn't know what they should be doing or whom they should be marking. Decide your system, pick your best team to fit that system, and stick to it for the whole game unless either injuries or going 2 goals behind means a change is required.
