Where are you?! Let's be having you!!
I hate this time of season, seems more than half the forum members bugger off when there's no games, and all the rest of us have to discuss is spurious transfer rumours!
Any ideas how we can keep numbers up during the off season?!

Re: Where are you?! Let's be having you!!
A few years ago, I started a thread in General Chat called What are you having for dinner?
So with that in mind, tonight I’m having Pollo Guisado with black beans and rice.
What are you having for dinner, then?

There’s a supermarket here in Georgia called Ingles. They make fresh pizzas and charge only $6! They’re delicious! I first tried one after I ordered 2 pizzas for delivery from Pizza Hut and the charge was $50! Not kidding.

I love my food, also love a food gadget - pressure cooker, sous vide, air fryer etc. wish I had more time and the kids ate a wider variety but it’s still a mini passion of mine.
Nothing too fancy, just popular dishes done really properly.
The price of food has also gone nuts now though!! There is a butchers that looks good (Manns?) in Ipswich but as I’m essex based it’s a bit too far. I struggle to find good quality meat at sensible prices.
If you like bbq then check out the burgers and sausages from Donald Russel - they are epic!
Bit of a food ramble sorry!

Can’t wait to see what Frosty’s having for dinner, although if I had to guess: lamb chops! In fact I bet Frosty’s weekly menu reads:
Mon-lamb chops
Tues-lamb chops
Wed-lamb chops
Thur-lamb chops
Fri-lamb chops
Sat-lamb chops
Sun-………lamb chops

Ah right, I thought you meant Georgia the country In that case 6 US dollars is definitely a bargain for good pizza!
People replacing ovens with these air fryers, or these all in one contraptions, can they really be that good? Had a friend cook me some quality bacon in one though.

Air fryers are great for frozen fried foods. They also cook homemade chips/Fries well…I’ve never cooked raw meat in one.Ricco wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 9:59 pmAh right, I thought you meant Georgia the country In that case 6 US dollars is definitely a bargain for good pizza!

Re: Where are you?! Let's be having you!!
As much as my diet probably has the forum brimming with expectant excitement, I wish to defend my high intake of lamb.
You see I grew up on a chicken farm (seriously) and my parents grew for KFC.
I hate f**king chicken, we had it 8 nights a week growing up. It even appeared regularly in sandwiches for next days school lunch.
I have started to eat the odd bit of chicken recently, but only if it's in a curry. (One thats hot enough to hide the chicken flavour)
I confess to having lamb (my favourite as a roast or chops) 2-3 days a week, yes I only eat Scoth Fillet Steak (you pr*ck Mauswara ) , but I do actually go vegetarian a few nights a week. ie any animal that is grown/fed on grass .................
cheers,

Ah didn’t know he was in NZ
Love lamb!
As for air fryers, I was sceptical but I’ve used my oven once in five months since I had it. It’s just quicker (especially warm up time) and tastes better.

I just popped on to see if there was anything much going on and I find you all talking about food when I'm trying to lose a few pounds before my god daughters wedding in August. Thanks! Saying that we're having a BBQ tonight, bratties & marinated chicken thighs with a nice spanish style salad, so the diet is OK ish!

Im not sure what I am having at this moment in time, it is a toss up between a quarter pounder in a brioche bun, with cheese, and some red onion with fries.
Or, a Chicken & asparagus pie, mash and beans or some peas, dead posh me....not!

Chicken Caesar Salad, followed by pork belly, followed by Eton Mess. At Dennington Queen with wife, younger son, his partner and their 5-month-old son.

Quesadillas last night, filled with beef mince, black beans, shredded veg and cheddar in kind of a BBQ sauce with gochugaru for heat and hoisin for complexity. It's probably sacrilegious to the Mexicans, like pineapple pizza to the Italians, but it worked, blimmin delicious
I'm with you with Lamb Dave, has to be king of the meats, thoughts of a slow cooked shoulder is making me salivate right now. At least it was chicken that was ruined for you, it is the beige of meats, done right the dark meat, skin or in a crispy burger, it can be pretty fantastic however.
I do miss it a bit too, my partner is very cautious of meat that isn't raised right or organic, she's got us buying organic beef from a local farm (occasionally they raise some wagyu, which is pretty special), anything other than that is a bit of a rare treat at times.
