Lost this one hour before ko when the line up was announced! Ridiculously naive by McKenna in my view…. Momentum is everything and the longer the game went on the less likely we were to score .
Good luck Maidstone , but my god we certainly gave it to them with our approach

Disagree with that. Its 6th tier v Championship. Momentum shouldn't even come into it. Its on the players shoulders.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 3:29 pmLost this one hour before ko when the line up was announced! Ridiculously naive by McKenna in my view…. Totally agree Marko. That side had more than enough quality about it.marko69 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 3:31 pmDisagree with that. Its 6th tier v Championship. Maidstone Utd are playing Punjab United in the Kent Cup on Tuesday. They BETTER beat the Punjabis!

Haha yes, sorry had to back it up. Credit to Maidstone but we had our first team squad at the end when it was 1-1. So like you, I don't buy Liz's argument (and please Liz, I apologise right now)! I am so f*****g p*****d with that result I could start a fight with myself right now (and that is just not me!!!).

I think KM took this too lightly with the team selection whoever put Maidstone to win was on song here, unbelievable 38 shots 13 on target 1 goal in the 1st half we should have been 4 or 5 up thank goodness this was only the FA Cup and not league, I feel quite ashamed that we could only score 1 goal I've never seen such a one-sided match and lose

Re: FAC Cup (R4) - Ipswich Town vs Maidstone United Preview & Matchday Thread
Well the evidence is there for all to see guys. I never thought we would score today but I did think we’d get caught in the break. If we don’t get a striker in this week we can say goodbye to 2nd spot….. but if you change a “ team” totally you don’t have the same impetus / momentum . And that became more and more evident as fans went on… we were playing catch up the whole game in my view…AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 3:32 pmTotally agree Marko. So what do the fans want?? Freddie not being played and folk saying he was "upset"? The manager changes things against Fickin Maidstone Utd For Gads sake....., and he got it wrong???? No. Sorry.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 3:37 pmWell the evidence is there for all to see guys. I never thought we would score today but I did think we’d get caught in the break. lol no worries AM…. It’s typical FA cup killing , and I don’t think we stood tie to tie with them because we felt “ we will score and then go on to win”…. But we didn’t factor in Maidstone’s sheer desire to run through that brick wall . You can have all the quality in the world but if you don’t have fluency and a killer instinct in front of goal ( compare their goals to ours!) you are done ….

Re: FAC Cup (R4) - Ipswich Town vs Maidstone United Preview & Matchday Thread
It’s the AMOUNT of change marko . He completely changed the impetus/ intensity of the team out there today with a complete team overhaul. Yes this team plays the same style as the first team but the intensity wasn’t there nor the fluency in the box…marko69 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 3:40 pmSo what do the fans want?? They play in training. This loss in on them. Its on Taylor being worse than shyte, its on Hutchy only having a left peg and its on various others who YOU & I would pick. They've let the boss and owners down with this complete embarrassment.

Aluko, Taylor, Humphreys, Ball & Tuanzebe not good enough.
Broadhead could not lead the line in an under 10s match, clueless, tackles himself more than the opposition but I guess its ok to go into games without a recognised striker on the pitch, or in fact at the club, you can't do it at any level of football and if we do it at Preston we lose.
The way our defence parted for their goals was unacceptable really, those players should be beating non league in their sleep.
