I mean we have been a car crash of a club I can’t hide that.
But….and it’s a big but…
New owner, an unreal new stadium around the corner I’d hope we’d have more pull than a newly promoted club. With the greatest respect.
That’s not a slate in Ipswich. More we are Everton. Had some woeful years but there is a glimmer of light finally.

Wouldn’t shock me if we’ve ’put a fake bid’ out there.
We’ve been known to do this before to make it look like we tried!
Who knows what’s going on with this kid. His agent seems a bit of a nobhead to be fair.
Is he even any good?

Well David Ornstein, who for me is very good is posting that an 18 million fee is in place for Philogene along with a 5 year deal and he's close to signing for us with medical due this week

Ornstein saying he’s off to you guys.
Hope he does the business for you!
(Except against us of course!)

Can't stand all these online newspapers. Clicked on to read about the Philogene to Everton story --->> ended up reading about some woman who jumped off the Humber Bridge in 2019.

Aston Villa put in a clause to buy back if they matched the highest offer from anyone else, thankfully the details of that clause, which I have just seen and read stipulate that it's if "Hull get promoted to the Premier League" they didn't so it's not a problem.

I think we are paying over the top for these players but I suppose that's how it is but surely we are very close to the amount we can spend getting on for £80 million if they all go through.

I suspect the fees will be Amortised so as to avoid any issues with overspending.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Yes the fee is spread over the account years matching the length of the contract, i.e 20m and a 5 year deal means minus £4m per accounting year for 5 seasons.
Its ok *IF* you don't go down, as then it quickly can go bad as you don't have the TV money.
I guess town are doing the math, we get approx 100m this season, and 50m the season after if we go down etc.
I expected us not to go over 80-90m as then you are borrowing against future seasons, but maybe that is a gamble the club are taking.
15m for delap is a bit steep IMO, not sure exactly where he will play?

If McKenna can get the same improvement out of Delap as he has others his value will quickly double. If he doesn’t score goals and even worse we get relegated it could also halve and therein lie’s the risk.

Yep but absolutely no choice but to take that risk.
I'm really happy with the rumoured business so far if we can get it all over the line.
Just a bit worried about Luongo. I love the guy but don't we need our Mainoo?

Agree with you, Only two journalists do I read and believe as I mentioned before regarding the rumours flying around Kieran and signing for other clubs, then signed extension at Ipswich are David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano
David is saying Looks like Juden and Liam Delap will be joining Town this week

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
According to the BBC the deal to sign Hull's Jaden Philogene is almost done
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 9y3n182pwo
At this rate our recruitment will be done by the end of the month which will allow all the new boys to play in our pre season fixtures.

Yes we still need a central midfielder, goalkeeper and a striker.Dubai Blue wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 4:41 pmYep but absolutely no choice but to take that risk.

That was the other thing that I started to ponder Andy. That good ole word, GELLING

We will potentially be bringing in half a team and they have to hit the ground running.

Speaking to Hull Live, City's vice-chairman Tan Kesler confirmed Villa would have first refusal to buy Philogene for a fixed fee of £15m should the Tigers win promotion to the Premier League, with the clause only coming into effect when the two clubs are in the same division.

Oh, great. So having forked out all this money, he's not even ours!! I hate the PL even more now.
It's a bit like this renting of a car for 3 years at the end of that period, if you want to keep the car you pay an extortionate price, or you sign up to another 3 year rental paying stupid money each month. But you never own the car.
