Szmodics is on as a sub for 65 minutes and has scored that's time for us to move on and yet again we have been F****d about by Blackburn
all that time we have spent on this git, don't we ever learn that dealing with BR is a bad thing

Think we can kiss this transfer goodbye now. He scored 2 goals in 11 minutes with minimal training.
I'm more disappointed at the amount of time we've wasted chasing a target , yet again.

Commentary has suggested it will probably be his last goal scored for. Blackburn whatever that means.

Scored one made one and he's only half fit so yes the price has probably gone up, I just hope we have moved on at last.

I have just stated to Mike I wouldn't put it past him Sammie to turn up at Portman Road on Monday to sign the deal £10 Million plus add on's there are more twists and turns to this saga, as for more coals in the fire I expect to see at least 3 or 4 more players in before the window shutsITFC2024 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 10:20 pmHe ain’t coming here mate! Can’t see why some people are getting so wound up about the Szmodics situation. We obviously have our valuation of what we think he is worth and if that is not acceptable to Blackburn then I much rather we walk away than pay over the odds for him.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
I think we’ve already walked away. The rest is media speculation. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get a striker on loan and probably a cm as well. Feel sorry for MA, he probably hasn’t had 8hrs of sleep since we were promoted. Current players will have to step up, otherwise we’re going back down. Hopefully that won’t be the case…to be honest I can’t handle another 9-0 thumping and I have confidence KM won’t let that happen. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know we’re not equipped to survive the league and the pink kit affirms that!Shed on tour wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 10:34 pmCan’t see why some people are getting so wound up about the Szmodics situation. Blackburn Rovers forward Sammie Szmodics had a fantastic 2023-24 in the Championship last season and earned the divisional Golden Boot.
There have been differing reports regarding his future at Ewood Park, with a distinct possibility he could soon be on his way to the Premier League.
Good fit for Ipswich
Szmodics has become a hot shot in the second tier, scoring 27 times for Rovers last term in what was a quite incredible campaign personally.
He has the ability and scoring prowess to play in the Premier League and showed this on the last day of the 2023-24 season with a brace against champions Leicester City to stave off relegation for Blackburn.
One team that seemingly has a keen eye on him is Ipswich Town, and Szmodics may opt to join the Tractor Boys so he can play in the top flight.
Szmodics’s composure in front of goal could be exactly what the newly promoted Ipswich need in the Premier League. The signing of the relatively inexperienced striker Liam Delap, a serial loanee from Manchester City, is not a guarantee of goals.
Last season Szmodics netted against the Tractor Boys. He could be available at a good price because Blackburn’s owners seem ready to sell.
Selection: Sammie Szmodics to be at Ipswich on September 3, 2024 @ 1/6 with Sky Bet

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
If Blackburn have no intention of selling leading goal scorer Sam Szmodics why on earth have their last three signings been two strikers and an attacking midfield player. I think most fans are thinking to replace Szmodics goals.

It’s a stand off. Agree they will sell him but they are holding out, I could see it going to deadline day.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
I think they’ll sell him too as they probably need the money and after his last seasons goals tally his value is at a maximum. If they wait a year his value could be half or even less than it is now. I hope it’s us where he moves to but sometimes these tricky deals have last minute twists. I just wonder if Leeds are back in the frame after cashing in on selling Summerville to West Ham for £25m + add ons, but hopefully being in the Premier League will give us the edge.

Leeds are after Rowe ( £7m offered), and Palace winger ( on loan) terms agreed apparently.

Mind you Liz they have plenty of money shifting 19 players out so far this close season raising circa £100m in the process and massively cutting the wage bill.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 8:53 amLeeds are after Rowe ( £7m offered), and Palace winger ( on loan) terms agreed apparently.
So far they’ve only spent £15m.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
I can’t believe Brentford have signed Carvalho from Liverpool for £20m + add ons believed to be up to £27-5m.
The Reds have also negotiated a 17.5% sell-on clause as part of the deal.
Liverpool signed the forward from Fulham for £5m in 2022 and the Cottagers will receive 20% of the profit from his move to Brentford.

I can’t believe this because he would have been a perfect fit for Ipswich Town and unlike Szmodics would have been a massive investment for the future with value that can only go in one direction.

I see another of our targets Jack Clarke at Sunderland had a fabulous game this afternoon and looked every bit a Premier Lesgue player and scoring in their 0-2 win at Cardiff City.
Does anyone know if he’s still on our radar ?

You could well be right Charny, but I think we've blown all of that type of money we had already. I also don't think we're paying big wages, so doesn't surprise me that teams that have already survived in the Prem are more attractive to players too.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
I think we’ve got another 20-30m to spend if needed. I suspect Carvalho was just out of reach, and we probably need to spend that more on a CM at present.
Clarke might well be a target still, but not sure he’d be worth over 15m (which is probably under what they are asking)

Mckenna would not touch him with a barge poll..seemingly a bad attitude and mentality not right..plus not that great desire at times and blows hot and cold . So it's a no ...and quite right too..Charnwood wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 5:50 pmI can’t believe Brentford have signed Carvalho from Liverpool for £20m + add ons believed to be up to £27-5m.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Brentford don’t make too many errors in the transfer market and I don’t think they’ve made one here either. Whilst Carvalho has been frustrated by his lack of opportunities under Klopp at Anfield it hasn’t held back his development and Liverpool can now cash in on his more than quadrupled value over the past 2 years. If the poor qualities you refer to are an accurate reflection of his make up I don’t think this could have happened, neither do I think Brentford or Southampton snd others would have perused their interest given his availability through Liverpools over supply of attacking midfield players fighting for a place. Personally I think there’s every chance Brentford could hit the jackpot with this signing especially if his development continues and I think Liverpool recognise this which is why they’ve included a 27.5%% sell on clause in the sale contract.Denny61 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 12:26 amMckenna would not touch him with a barge poll..seemingly a bad attitude and mentality not right..plus not that great desire at times and blows hot and cold . Just remember he finished last season scoring 5 goals in Hulls last 7 games and was a massive success on Liverpools pre season tour. I think Brentford’s risk with this signing is next to zero unless he picks up a serious injury and that’s a risk with any signing. Of course Brentford know this better than most after their recent £30m record signing Igor Thiago
picked up a serious knee injury on his Brentford debut in a pre-season friendly, and was subsequently ruled out of action for the remainder of the year. Just imagine if that had happened to us with Omari.
