Very injury prone apparently. Would never happen coz they wouldn’t sell to us and furthermore, I wouldn’t want to give those gobshytes a single brass farthing!

Crikey another winger, makes you wonder if Burns is out for the season

In talks with Luton it seems but we are over the 25 limit so some will have to leave.
Ipswich Town are in talks to sign Luton Town forward Tahith Chong. #ITFC #LTFC
Just realized this is a different player.

he is a big physical fella , and has played as a striker for the us team.shabba wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 10:25 amIsn’t he more one to play in the three behind the striker?
Ie not a tall/strong/mobile striker KM wants. I admit I don’t know much about him though so could be wrong.
played on the left for Coventry at times.

Looks to be West Ham bound but wouldn't put it past MA if we can make the numbers work...

Yes strange that but it seems that it's Ogbene but 8 million is crazy he was a free last year and although he played 30 Premier games it was in a side that got relegated, I read that the Luton fans are pleased it's not Chong that's leaving.

It looks like Chelsea's Armando Broja's move to us could be back on as the revised paper is now being sorted regarding terms of the contract not injury as stated and Trevoh Chalobah a defender is also being linked,???
it's going to be a busy week

Mike, I think there will be profound changes to our original team of last season in a few games from now you won't recognise half the team BUT this needs to happen if we want to survive in the Premiership, we must invest in much better quality players. and with Broja if it happens and we can get him back to full working order he will be a beast for defenders to contend with, I also would love to see Chalobah in our backline. I can also see a hell of a lot of original players being moved on to new pastures and sentiment will not come into it that's progress if you cant fit into the new setup you will be moved on.

I read that Borja's hold up is his paycheck and recently read he is building an eco friendly mansion not far from the Chelsea training facility.ashfordblue wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 9:24 pmIt looks like Chelsea's Armando Borja's move to us could be back on as the revised paper is now being sorted regarding terms of the contract not injury as stated and Trevoh Chalobah a defender is also being linked,???it's going to be a busy week
Something tells me he's not the right guy.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
It looks bloody ridiculous to me He scored 4 goals for Luton last season from 33 appearances. Before that he was at Rotherham where he scored 12 goals from 120 appearances over 4 seasons. (2019 - 2023)
Freddie Ladapo was at Rotherham at the same time and scored 34 goals from 104 appearances over 3 seasons. (2019 - 2022)
Statistically it makes no sense but tbh I know nothing about him.

McKenna has confirmed that the Broja deal is still under discussion which is thought to be due to an achilles problem. Even if a deal is agreed he will be out for at least 7 weeks. Ffs walk away now Town.

Whilst I agree Tony, the club medical team obviously feel this is a rehabilitation positive situation. But for me, it depends on what the nature of his achilles problem is.
Id ask the question why a 22yr old has got possible degenerative achilles tendinopathy, unless there's been an element of sub acute injury not fully resolved. That would be different.

Any one else a bit concerned with the fact we are buying players from relegated clubs ?, Muric the jurys out O'Shea I'm happy enough with but Ogbene I can't understand they are talking about 8 million for a 27 year old had he been 21 it would be a different story I think he's a Championship player at best, please let me be wrong.
As to Broja we should walk away even if it means we have to wait for the January window to get the right player.

The thing is Liz, with Hirst out injured with his knee problem the last thing we need is to bring in a player who already has injury concerns. For me it is a big NO but then again I’m not in charge of the negotiations!hallamblue wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 11:10 amWhilst I agree Tony, the club medical team obviously feel this is a rehabilitation positive situation. Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Interesting stats Andy which makes it even more weird, add to that he is basically a right sided attacking winger of which we already have Burns and Hutchinson, it mentions he can play left side too where we have Jack Clarke and Broadhead, I'm wondering if either Burns or Broadhead are out long term, maybe even both but even so the price mentioned for Ogbene is obscene.Charnwood wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 10:35 amIt looks bloody ridiculous to me He scored 4 goals for Luton last season from 33 appearances. It's ridiculous in my opinion, 7 weeks and Hirst will hopefully be back, a possible 30 Million for this crock makes no sense to me at all.Shed on tour wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 10:55 amMcKenna has confirmed that the Broja deal is still under discussion which is thought to be due to an achilles problem. Signings from relegated clubs doesn't overly concern me as you can get a gem among the dross and the players we've signed are mostly players I would have been advocating we go for, Muric and Broja the exceptions.Cabanas Blue wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 11:22 amAny one else a bit concerned with the fact we are buying players from relegated clubs ?, Muric the jurys out O'Shea I'm happy enough with but Ogbene I can't understand they are talking about 8 million for a 27 year old had he been 21 it would be a different story I think he's a Championship player at best, please let me be wrong.

So, who's on the way out this week ? I'm gonna guess at
Taylor (Little chance of game time)
Edmundson or Burgess (one or the other)
Harness (a shame but needs must)
Al-Hamadi (possible loan IF we get a striker)
Ladapo (put your mortgage on it)
Slicker (possible loan, replacement needed)

If we don’t shift some out we’re going to have an unnecessarily high wage bill for players who will rarely get any game time.

Yes seconds after I posted that I saw McKenna’s press conference, good decision as probably not many Third choice keepers out there better than Slicker. I see the article mentions pretty much the players I mentioned, with the exception of Burgess.Shed on tour wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 12:21 pmMcKenna has confirmed that Slicker will remain for the season.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Premier League new boys Ipswich will switch their
striker search to Odsonne Edouard if Armando Boria's
move collapses completely.
The Tractor Boys have sounded out Crystal Palace
about Edouard who is also fancied by Italian side
Atalanta.
Ipswich hoped to land Borja from Chelsea until doubts
were raised about the loan swoop.
Now French star Edouard is the alternative and
available.
Ipswich would take him on loan and Palave
may agree if there is a £20 million deal down the line.
Palace are closing on a deal for Arsenal's Wddie
Nketiah to push Edouard further down their pecking
Via Alan Nixon.
He had a good scoring record at Celtic and 18 goals in 95 games for Palace and 26 years old, I've just read that he does not chase back and not good with his back to goal and Palace fans want him out.🫣

Bloody hell it's a no brainer if true, Edouard is some unit and a decent player, I would also much rather have this guy than Broja all day long.
