A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

Bacharach wrote it, Arthur covered it, someone mashed the two together for the video.
Did not know that there was a reincarnation of Love still going.
Written for What's New Pussycat, originally recorded by Mannfred Mann for the film.
Regarding Love, They toured a few years back with Baby Lemonade who essentially became Love while maintaining their own identity too. The current version, billed as "Johnny Echol's Love" were who I saw. Not sure who else was in the band.
Just noticed it’s 8 years to the day since Arthur Lee died.

Am a bit of a closet Bacharach fan, he wrote a lot of music we're all familiar with. Like
this and some maybe not so much
perilously close to jazz but decidedly lounge off the same LP

I have a copy of “Magic Moments - The Definitive Burt Bacharach Collection”, a 3-CD set. Quite MOR but some great tunes. A very talented man.

Jeffrey Lewis at Norwich Arts Centre. Lost track of how many times I’ve seen him, excellent as always.

Barclay James Harvest. She Said.
Often called the poor man’s Moody Blues, always thought it a harsh comparison. This is from their second album, Once Again. The album of theirs I always return to despite having at least 5 others.

Dave Van Ronk and the Hudson Dusters. Selected at random from my collection. A strange one, Van Ronk was a contemporary of Dylan in the 60s. Never really made it Big because he didn’t write - before Dylan many folkies just performed old songs.
But for this album he formed a band - I suppose times were a-changing by then, and you were allowed to be a bit more electric. An early version of Both Sides Now as well as Swinging On A Star. A very odd mix of songs.

Been a while since I listed to BJH, they were reckoned the best set at Weeley, if my memory serves me right.

Pretty decent that.
The song “somersault” reminding me of Joe Walsh & the James Gang from the 70s

They’re a band out of Colorado mostly independent production. Some of their stuff is more folksy but I love this album. Scents of crosby, stills, nash, young/ Radiohead. Nice stuff. Very original though.
