"Countdown" on official ITFC Board.....

..."16 days to go ..." to get your ST at discounted price .

Does this indicate that they are not selling too well ?

Friend of mine knows someone at the ticket office and according to them, sales are WAAAY down on last season based on how long they've been on sale for. Don't know any exact figures though.

This could be devasting for us all, significant reductions in revenue, will result in player sales, reduced wage budgets, and ultimately a failure to challange for promotion.

So come on folks, cough up and get behind the super blues

I don't know of anyone not renewing their ticket. Everyone around us in the Cobbold are renewing and 4 ST at work have all renewed already. There must be apathy somewhere for these reports to be made.

I am actually quite excited by next season

BRING IT ON

But WHY !!!! we were told this season was a restructuring year and tbh we're going to finish in a better position than a lot of us predicted...next season with the help of funds from season ticket sales and the youngsters that are pushing through into the first team now, we'll be stronger...why are some people so short sighted ....less season tickets sold = more chance of our up and coming talent being sold....its not rocket science

bit harsh nicky, some people cant afford a season ticket this time round, and rather than push the boat right out ie: over stretching finances, they will probably do it on a game by game basis

to be honest if i was a regular at PR id be well pissed off with the club saying more season tickets need to be sold or we sell our best players, which is what sheepy basically said a while back

Unfortunatly in this day and age these are the bare facts and we are by no means alone...most clubs that aren't in the top flight struggle ....Im not having a 'go' at people, Im just saying that IMO I feel its a tad 'shallow' to only get a season ticket if the clubs doing well.

yeah i agree to a point but.....the reason we have so many season ticket holders now is because people got them when we 'were' doing well, back in 97/98 for instance we were only averaging 15000 i think it was

basically what im saying is that i think the "average" man on the street is priced out of football at all professional levels, jonno for instance i think said he uses up all his holiday watching town play, and i bet all of his holiday pay as well, and im sure countless others do as well

and this is what annoys me when sheepy comes out with these statements, it may be the "bare facts" but he really could do with some PR lessons and try and encourage the fans to renew their tickets instead of the threats of losing players

I get what you're saying but I dont see these as threats...if Sheepy doesnt mention the facts then He's accused of keeping the fan's in the dark...I see it as him just saying it like it is.....

You mention encouragement....what about selling tickets for the under 7's for a quid a game ? our childrens season tickets are one of the lowest in the league....what would say to encourage people to buy then ?...not having a 'pop'..just interested.

So if Garvan leaves because... a. he gets a good offer to play in the prem and further his career....OR... b. the club gets a good offer for him, he gets wind of it and would rather be playing for bigger wages....you'll concider not re-newing your season ticket  ...see this is what I dont quite get...sorry not having a go, just dont really understand

we wern't going to keep Bent, he didn't want to be with us towards the end of last season. IMO we were right to sell him while we could he had just 1 year left on his contract. If we had forced him to stay you really think he'd be arsed to play well? would you if your employer stopped you from changing jobs? and if he had stayed we'd only lost him on a free transfer. yes he's a good player but given the injuries this season and lack of kuqi would he have the same service this year as he did last?

thing is i didn't expect to be paying for the season ticket just yet so i'm having to raise the money for it, i'm not as rich as most of you lot

i will however make the deadline, in-fact i will have the money by early next week. 8)

i work hard to go to football and it's a luxury for me and to expect fans to pull money from a tree and say there you go at a drop of a hat is wrong in my opinion, they shouldn't have put us in this position and waited till the end of season, but know they can simply because they know that we enjoy football and love the club..........holding fans to ransom by saying we will sell basically is also wrong......that's what they are saying.

rant over

Personally i dont think Garvan will go. He's said he wants to stay here which is different to the likes of bent, Kuqi and miller which we were pissed off with in the summer.

Im not Renewing my ticket as ill be in Southampton at Uni next year but my brother is trying to convince one of his mates to take up my ticket so the club wont lose out there. I guess ive been pretty lucky being a student and not ahving anyother outgoings so i can spend money on the season ticket but understand that its becoming too expensive for the average joe to go without having to miss out on other things such as a holiday etc. I really cant see the next season ticket i will buy which is quite sad really but its not any stand against the club. Just personal circumstances ( and 12 K of student debt which i will have in 3 years time ! ) The club is caught abit between a rock and a hard place at the moment. Hopefully people will renew to similar levels as this season so they can watch a succesful season, which it is shaping up to be !
