There's still some good players Trev, English cricket still has a huge amount of County teams to select from, it has to be more than just a lack of ability ... surely?itfc76trev wrote:frostynz wrote:Anyone into cricket on here?

Re: Cricket World Cup
Have you ever actually played cricket, Frosty?
We Scots may take the pi$$ but it's definitely a "mans" sport. Many years ago down in Peebles, Scotland, (30 miles south of Edinburgh)...... Myself and my brother were there one summer with our families having a picnic. A semi pro , cricket game was being played on a large recreational park area. When they were all done, I had the brass neck to go ask for a go at batting! Now I don't know if this guy was bowling any faster than normal, but FK THAT sh*t!! My brother told me I looked like a big girls blouse trying to hit that ball. The speed was incredible. Can't imagine getting bowled at by some of these professional fast bowlers...... Frightening.

Balls of steel, Frosty!
Were you a better batsman or bowler?
While we are here; RIP Richie Benaud. Great voice.
