We may be going down but we certainly aren’t giving up easily.

That’s 11 goals for McGoldrick so far this season, the same as our top two scorers added together. (Freddie Sears 6 + Gwion Edwards 5 ).

The improvement is there to see, apart from last 20 mins of first half I thought we did well and deserved at least a point, only one loanee and blooding youngsters augers well. Happy journey home.

Enjoyed the game, lads played really well, 6 academy players tonight. Boos at the end says it all. Just need to get more bodies in the box when we are looking to cross the ball.
The future is looking bright but need to stick with the young fullbacks for the rest of the season.

Johnson could or should have been fired long before today with a chairman more ruthless than what they got there. Reports indicate we should have taken it, they were somewhat ineffective and perhaps more celebratory of a point. Bolton losing at home also was frustrating, the two extra points we could of got in Bristol would have made things marginally more interesting.
Team did well with key players out, we're showing extra focus and determination, too bad it's all arrived a little too late. Bristol got promotion nerves, they're going to implode badly if someone over there don't get their thumbs out their asses.

Before the last few games they won 8 games in a row. Why would they sack him? Problem with him is he goes on long winning and losing streakssaint jude wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 1:30 amJohnson could or should have been fired long before today with a chairman more ruthless than what they got there. Not sure about the 8 in a row, Charlton. Recently beaten by Leeds and at home to Birmingham City.

Another encouraging performance. Our league position makes out we’re mugs, but I don’t see it with the performances. Seems like we’re enjoying playing football and I don’t see a miserable club in free-fall. Hopefully, we can see out the season with the same performances and spirit.... and take that into next season. We shouldn’t need a massive clear out... just try and tie down Judge, if possible, and get a striker.
I really want to see us win, but can see we’re really trying to win hearts & minds and bums on seats at the moment with a big nod to next season. I thought Kenlock was our MOTM last night.

Spot on Tang, we certainly dont look or feel like a miserable club in freefall, once again all the fans I mingled with last night are more than happy with the situation and what they are getting dished up, they see the bigger picture and believe better days are coming.
Agree about Kenlock, thought he was very good, as was Nsiala for the most part and Chalobah improved as the game went on.

We cannot score - but getting a new striker is not half as important as putting players in the opponents box when we're attacking.tangfastic wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 8:23 amAnother encouraging performance. Far too many times the ball came into their box and there was only Jackson there - where were the other lazy b@stard forwards and midfielders?
And forget about signing one of those lazy b@stards (Judge) for next season - it's already obvious that we will not be able to offer him enough in terms of wages.

Re: Bristol City FC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
I did feel for Jackson last night as I dont think Edwards or Judge did much in an attacking sense to help the guy, hence he was dropping out wide to get the bloody ball leaving the box virtually empty at times. Bishop really offers this down the middle too but for me Dozzell is nowhere near as attack minded so again we fell short there, Jackson got a bit of stick off one or two last night which I thought was unfair on him on this occasion.

Re: Bristol City FC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
You could see that the midfield was less effect last night. But these games will give Lambert so much valuable information to enable him to plan for next season. Better now in the remaining games, than in a 6 week pre season period when players are concentrating mainly on getting fit.
In and ideal world our midfield mini squad would consist of
*Bishop
*Skuse ( or younger version )
*Nolan
*Judge
Huws ( if ever fit again )
Downes
Nydam
Chalobah ( another season king loan would be fantastic but unlikely )
* is currently our most effective midfield IMHO

Excellent post tang . The future is indeed bright and at last our youngsters are getting their chance .tangfastic wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 8:23 amAnother encouraging performance. Re: Bristol City FC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
It was a very encouraging display last night, BUT I still think Luke Chambers got turned to many times last night, and I cant for the life of me see him being with Ipswich next season as a player, Judge will play better alongside Bishop, when Bishop came on albeit with only 12 minuets left he showed just what we've got in talent, Dozzell just needs a few more games to get in the swing of it, also if we don't keep Chelsea loan Chalobah next season it wont be too upsetting, as I think we will have adequate cover with our youngsters, very happy to see PL giving Idris El Mizuni a run out, I can see him being a big part of our future, just needs bulking up a tad as he will get some rough treatment, and with the likes of Downes, Lankester, etc waiting to come in, I'm very happy and cant wait for next season.
