Judge close to signing a 2 year deal
According to reports on TWTD.
IF this happens surely this would dispel any reports that Lambert might not be at the Club next season. Players like Judge would happily play for Lambert and wouldn’t sign if there was any uncertainty regarding the managers position, surely?

Re: Judge close to signing a 2 year deal
I don’t see any link with Alan Judge signing a new contract and Paul Lambert staying at Portman Road. Alan Judge is looking after himself in securing a 2 year deal which will take him through to near on age 33 which is good career planning. If you look back he’s spent half his career playing in League One which is where Brentford were when he joined them, and where he will be comfortable and hopefully play regular football subject to keeping fit.
If Paul Lambert stays and sees out Alan Judges contract that would be completely out of character, after all Ipswich is Lamberts 9th managerial appointment in less than 14 years and only twice in his managerial career (at Norwich and Aston Villa) has he stayed beyond 2 years, and neither of those did he stay for three.
I think he’ll be here till the end of May which will be longer than he stayed at his three previous clubs, Stoke City, Wolves and Blackburn Rovers, the guy is a serial career mover and has little stickability.

Players leave or join Clus, based on who’s the manager is all the time Andy. So I’d say there’s s very strong correlation to whether Judge signs and Lambert staying !

It may be a consideration Liz but players are used to managerial changes and the only thing they’re really interested in is , especially when they reach age 30.

I would have thought someone Judge’s age would be looking to sign a 3 year deal.
I can’t help but think we’ll have to offer serious money for him. Maybe offer him team captaincy as well.
Chambo makes an excellent club captain/ B & B owner, but I think he needs to focus on his game on match days.

Really happy about this. Shows intent, too, for next year.
Fingers crossed now he’s signed the contract, his form doesn’t do a Bart and he stays fit.
