Fourth yellow card goes to Chambers, at this rate we’ll be lucky to have 11 players on the pitch come 90 mins.

HT still only 0-1, although loads of chances for Birmingham to extend their lead, but whilst it stays like this we’re still in the game. Does it look like happening, probably not.

Second half underway with Kayden Jackson coming on for Andre Dozzell who had a shocking first half.

Pays immediate dividends 1-1.... great assist from Jackson for Edwards to score.

...and another curling effort from Jackson fractionally wide.

We look a different side second half, replacing Dozzell with Jackson has certainly given us more thrust.

For the first time it looks like we could win this game and certainly now look the better side.

Lambert must have given them a right rollicking at half time.

Second change for Town, James Collins replaced by Toto Nsiala, maybe an injury to Collins ?

20 mins to go and we’re well on top although Jutkiewicz should have put Brum in front on 62 mins.

Well we came up short but all credit to Paul Lambert and the team for having a right good go in the second half, just a shame we couldn’t do it for 90 minutes.

Knew it was coming, still emotional and devastated at this moment in time. Spirited 2nd half effort, I keep saying there is a good player in Jackson, changed the gsme. Overwhelming reception for the team and manager from the North Stand. Gutted

If we play like we did in the first half we’ll continue to struggle even in League 1, but if we play as we did in the second half we should at least make the play offs. I thought Andre Dozzell was dreadful today, any thoughts of him being sold for £1m + to balance the books should be forgotten.

Charny, as soon as Lambert put Jackson on up front with Quaner, it made a difference. Jackson could be some player for us next season, but he has to play with a strike partner, and not a loan striker.

As for Dozzell, I’m really not sure about h8m since he came back from injury. Is he needing more time to get back up to speed? Has the injury taken that “ special”, element he had in his game? Or is he overrated? Whatever the answer, I think he will struggle with the physicality of League One next season unless he gets in the gym over the summer.

To be honest Liz, he’s probably too young, too inexperienced and too lightweight for a relegation dog fight. Paul Lambert recognised that too albeit too late and the substitution was masterclass.

Got an amount of frustration right now. Dismay, anger, regret, but what it's going to achieve, f**king jack.

Of course realized ahead of time we were destined to drop out the league but nonetheless hurts all the same. So many factors where it all went wrong, what if's and maybes, but too late after the event. Not looking forward to League One, some think it's a new dawn or view it as a new challenge but can't see it anything but a huge step back right now. How long before this club makes it back to the EPL ? Seriously, you couldn't even hazard a guess right now.

Took a view of the Shrewsbury main message board and lo and behold many of their bitter snides - sorry, users - are taking great delight in our demise - all because there was some unsavory business going back to the Hurst appointment. Complete bunch of nobodies that have never - or will never - accomplish anything, still let them have their moment of glory or highlight of their season. Sorry-asses.

As for the game itself, seemed like old territory. A turgid first period and the team is rejuvenated after the interval and actually look like they want something from it. Hasn't that been the story for much of the season.

We're going down because the players haven't been good enough, (we) haven't played consistently well, The Hurst debacle back in last fall, first and foremost an owner that hardly requires any further berating or castigation it's way. Say again it's a sad occasion but time invariably provides a solution. Been part of some stellar times with this team, falling into a third league is a sh*t experience but it's hardly the end.

So far I’ve kept my emotions in tact but watching that has just brought tears to my eyes. If PL had any doubts about staying on for the fight I’m sure that “after relegation reception” would make him have second thoughts.

Try as I might to keep positive, and to look forward to a bounce back next season, I am sitting here in the early hours feeling nothing but devastation. A tragic day for our wonderful club.

Absolutely CLASS Fans. No booing. No demos .
Not needed . We know who’s to blame. But affording blame isn’t going sort the problem out.
We can’t change things (at the top) as thing stand .

All we can do is continue to support this Club like we have, and watch our kids flourish next season .

Having been resigned to relegation for a long time now and actually looking forward to next season I wasn’t ready to feel as deflated as I did at full time. When I saw the players fall to the floor and some of the Birmingham players trying to lift them up to console them I had a real sad moment. No tears but once the fans got going I’ve never felt so proud to be an Ipswich fan, I had a lump in my throat and thought to myself this is what it is about. We have to support this club in its worst period to one day enjoy some good times again. The real work starts now and we have to learn from this, irs been a result of many seasons of turning a blind eye to some fairly obvious errors and isolation of the support base. Time to stop the blame game and start afresh all round.
