Nice piece about the last time Town were in the third tier of football.

I think my late uncle Basil Acres would have been the last Town player to have scored in third tier for Ipswich in the last game of the season at Southampton in a 2-0 win which Town had to win to be Champions.

Basil's pet shop then Mike, he also worked for Town for many years after he finished playing and was given a new car when he left, he got a career ending injury playing against Swansea so was unable to play during the season Town won the championship.

And on the first day, Ashford said, “Let there be light”...... and there was light. And it was good! :D
