Liverpool v Barcelona.
Surely must be one of the best games ever. Went to the first leg at Barca and they played well there and never deserved to be three down but tonight was something very special. Just hope they can go on and win it.
Has anyone ever watched a better game of football cos for me that was unbelievable.

Re: Liverpool v Barcelona.
Great game to watch, Liverpool were brave in possession without over committing going forward. Best team over two legs won.
Looks like Liverpool are going to end up with what city want and city what Liverpool wants.

That was amazing. Truly didn’t expect that. Even when it got to 3-3 and 4-3 I expected Messi/Barcelona to up their game and then sneak a goal. I thought Liverpool were really unfortunate to lose 3-0 in the first leg and thought it would be a damp squib second leg. Liverpool truly deserved that, but couldn’t believe how gutless Barcelona were in the end.

Re: Liverpool v Barcelona.
You managed to get Champions League Semi finals tickets for Barca v Liverpool, Charnwood?? Awesome stuff. Would love to visit the Nou Camp...... (as it was called at Espana 82)
Incredible game of football. Loved Alexander-Arnold’s vision at the end there. We see moments of pure class replayed from yesteryear from the likes of Best, Law, Gazza etc etc, and that’ll be added. What a star at 20 years old.
Spurs take inspiration for it and defeat Ajax tonight?? All Engerland final?

Re: Liverpool v Barcelona.
It was a great game and i found myself nervous at the end even though i am far from being any kind of Liverpool fan! It did make me sad that we had big European games in the 70's and 80's but they are long gone for us whilst Liverpool fans can still experience them. Just what has happened to mean we fell away so far from the likes of Liverpool who we used to look at as peers in many ways. I guess it shows how much we overperformed under Sir Bobby... Ho hum - life isn't fair is it?

Same here, can't stand Liverpool but the hairs were standing up on my neck, surely the greatest comeback given who it was against.

Hey Marko, I’ve just tried to post a couple of pics but failed miserably. Although high in the stands we had seats on the half way line with a great view of the match. I’d been to the Nou Camp before on a stadium tour but not on a match day and only regret I wasn’t there watching the Tractor Boys on either of our two visits when we did better than Liverpool. At the moment I’m trying to get a couple of tickets for the final but with two English sides playing I don’t think it’s going to happen. Last week tickets were changing hands outside the stadium for 600€ each v face value of 120€ ea, that’s crazy as was the number of fans who traveled without tickets.marko69 wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 8:37 amYou managed to get Champions League Semi finals tickets for Barca v Liverpool, Charnwood?? I don’t think I could bring myself round to pay that much even if it was Ipswich Town v Liverpool

Was it in Istanbul in 2005 when loads of Liverpool fans walked out at half-time when 3-0 down during the CL final?
Based on what happened there and these last semi-finals - I can’t see any fans doing that again.
TBH.... I have a feeling it could be a bit of anti-climax after those semi-finals and could be a dull game. In some ways, I’d prefer a foreign team against an English team in the final. A bit of unknown. Feels a bit too Premiershippy/FA Cuppy.

Re: Liverpool v Barcelona.
Yes, actually witnessed a guy I know walk up the stairway out of Hampden Park along with many other Hibees around the 55th minute when Hibs were 3-0 down to Falkirk in the Scottish Cup semi final of 2012. On comes Leigh Griffiths and its 4-3 Hibs.
To this very day, that guy claims he witnessed it. Aye, on a feckin telly in a pub OUTSIDE Hampden maybe!
NEVER leave before the end. Thats the rule. Well, its my rule anyway.

Re: Liverpool v Barcelona.
Also remember footage of all the jambos fighting each other to get back into Shitecastle back in the 80s. 2-0 down to Rangers in the 88th minute. They scored twice to make it 2-2. Jambos on the Scottish News Headlines punching lumps out of each other at the Gorgie Road turnstiles fighting to get back in.

Yea, and I was one of those who left early and found out the score in the car. I’ve never left early since.
Also loads of Liverpool fans left the Nou Camp soon after Barca’s 3rd goal, ridiculous having paid 120€ for their ticket.

Can recall quite vividly back in May 1990 their last English Championship, if you had said back then another wouldn't be coming in 30 years I wouldn't have believed it.
I'd say sorry for your title missed opportunity and all that but it would be only be something not above disingenuous. Tottenham would be a big favor denying them the other trophy opportunity. Pity is you feel they'll actually win the goddamn thing.
But today was about a league challenge, congrats to Manchester City. Far from a favorite side but I'll take them over the other without question.

To be honest I don’t have an issue with either Liverpool or Tottenham who are the two English clubs who play the most British players in the Premiership and regularly field sides that are 50% made in the UK.
