If he is hot property.... are we really that kind of team that could persuade him to come here?
I am sure he would come to Ipswich instead of Tranmere but it depends on interest from other clubs. If there is truth in it, go out and try and get it done early.

Our loss.... Scunthorpe’s gain . You wait and see ... the Hurst and Doig combo will take League 2 by storm next season with a proper pre-season behind him. Would be nice to steal a handy Scunthorpe player if they have any TBH.Ando wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 4:08 pmLast time we waited for the playoffs to finish we ended up with PHtangfastic wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 10:01 amYes, we are a step up from Tranmere, but, as you say, it depends if we’re among other clubs interested in him. Knowing ITFC, it'll be Scuntoidthorpe in the checkatrade @ PR and PH will master a 4-0 win.

Shitty football journalism alert!!
The title “It’s impossible to see these 2 Ipswich players sticking around at Portman Road” caught my attention. I thought it could relate to some of our players under contract.
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/its-i ... er-summer/
It’s relating to CHalobah and Quaner... both loanees who’ve already gone and no mention of their loanee-status in the article. It reads like they’re under contract here. I don’t think any of us expect to see them back.
I suppose it’s pre-season and it’s time to throw out any piece of garbage to fill spaces.

To be honest i maintain i dont think PH is a bad manager, he certainly made mistakes with us but i think perhaps he underestimated the position we found ourselves in with the players that were leaving. I wouldnt be surprised to see him do well with Scunthorpe, shame it didnt work out here for him, i was sorry to see it end the way it did but ultimately he did have to leave.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
What he underestimated is the “emptying a dressing room” power of Doig. Some players who left, including Waghorn, had already commented on the future with Hurst; then in walked Doig. Waggy: “Fk this Shyte, I’m off!”

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
How much of this about Doig is confirmed truth? A lot of unsubstantiated rumours flying around.
I get it that they weren’t popular, but they were taking over from a manager who was very popular with the players and who ensured that he kept the players onside, rather than the fans. I think Hurst’s approach upset a few egos.
Hurst / Doig have got to take the wrap for this, but I wouldn’t rule out entirely that the senior pro’s didn’t give him enough support. I’m not sticking up for Hurst, but I just think he’s too easy and obvious a target to take the complete blame. In hindsight, Hurst should have massaged a few egos first. It probably wouldn’t have mattered - as Charlton says, Hurst underestimated the task he was taking on.... and as we’ve discovered last season it wasn’t just on the pitch.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
Probably nothing confirmed regarding Doig, but how much is anything confirmed truth? It’s all wind & pish in reality. My tongue in cheek comment is only based on his billy big baws attitude that he seems to walk around with.
He almost certainly did. Every player of any note from the previous season upped and left a week after the Hurst/Doig first meeting with the players.tangfastic wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 9:49 amHurst underestimated the task he was taking on.... and as we’ve discovered last season it wasn’t just on the pitch.

Town linked with Exeter GK...apparently!

As for Hurst/ Doig “ influence” at PR, I suggest to contact BlueMike, as he had details from A very reliable source regarding a lot of what went in behind closed doors. Which are Certainly not idle rumours either.

You,BM and AVRS could be a bit late to spill the beans... they’ve just been appointed managerial team at Scunthorpe!!!!hallamblue wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 4:30 pmTown linked with Exeter GK...apparently!

Must admit, I don’t necessarily trust rumours and pish n wind, but they tend to be interesting stories. Good to see you’ve forgiven the forum, Hallam

Just saw a great finish from Norwood in the play off game, real quality, 32 for the season, if we dont get him somebody else certainly will, I'd have some of that.

Tell you what though, (opposite of that) ..... if Dave makes it to Portman Road from Auckland before I've done it from Edinburgh, -----> that's a deserved kick in the balls from Hallam!

Always liked the look of Doidge but achieved nothing at a level above L2 so another gamble really.

I don’t know anything about Doidge, but is he more likely to be someone who’s more like Will Keane ( target man, hold up play) than a Norwood (goal-scorer)? I would be very wary we sign Keane due to his injury history, but we could do with someone with a bit of height & physicality.

Doidge is very much in the Daryl Murphy mold in my opinion

He’s not actually signed... and it’s from theDaily Mirror. What if he scores a hat-trick in the final and there’s plenty of other interest from other clubs? Got to admit there’s been plenty of talk of us leading the race for him for a couple of months so I think something could be done already.

Thing is Phil Ham rarely posts an article about something unless it’s very high on a completed status.

Wouldn’t worry me in the least if Bart leaves - just get a good price! He’ll definitely want to leave despite the tripe he came out with a week of two ago .

If you believe the greenun it looks like Norwood is pretty much a done deal
