Good guess. Daley and this athlete are connected by the sport, but I don’t think Daley would accept a lift from this person.

Ok..... I've left a word out of this as it would give it away far too easily..
" British ***** is a complete joke, but I've got the answer..... me!"

No Daley.
Clue time.... Despite being in a minority sport, he beat ALL the known super star sportsmen at one particular event.

Try this.
“I still eat pizzas, I still like pies, I still have spaghetti hoops for breakfast... but it's in moderation now.”

Re: Who said that?
Yes he said that on a talk show, Graham Norton maybe? Whatever it was, I remember saying to the wife, "And I bet those were 4n20 pies!" Used to love saturdays, going to the MCG with my dad and brother, Aussie Rules & 4n20 pies. Superb.
Easy one:

Re: Who said that?
Not easy at all, too vague, unless you can determine what sporting industry it relates to it's tough to provide a definitive answer.
Phil Taylor the dart player. Arguably the best ever at what he performed. No surprise if incorrect.

Re: Who said that?
Maybe it’s only easy to Scottish people. That’s actually a clue. Very famous quote. And I’d expect Charnwood to get it....... there’s a second clue.
