Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
It’s a short term contract until January so that says we’re not too sure about him.
Probably just cover whilst Nsiala is injured. Nsiala and Chambers are planned to be our chosen senior centre-backs, but we’ll see how Woolfy gets on. If he’s as good as some make out, he might be the quality CB we want. It’s likely Wilson will be third or fourth choice CB.... so it’s a temporary, cheap solution to fill a gap.

He has not officially signed yet, there has been nothing from the club so we don't know length of contract he has or if he will sign for defo.tangfastic wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 9:03 amIt’s a short term contract until January so that says we’re not too sure about him.

A lot of sites have been saying a lot about Barts Tweet.
And it's only a loan deal, But this seems to put a different light on the subject
(I'm not sure how accurate this website is though)

Oh good find KLB !!
I think Town allowed the loan to go ahead simply to get Bart off our wage bill . But I’d be very happy to see some dosh come in for him.
Btw , was in KL over this last week . What a lovely, and historic little place it is too. Me and my friend cycled from Dersingham..... didn’t my bum know that too lol !!!

May as well have closed in May. I very nearly got me and my son a season ticket after marcus evans speech but im so glad i didnt now. All smoke and mirrors from that bloke. I still feel town have enough to compete but ME should feel ashamed after conning so many people out of hard earned cash for season tickets via his once a season bullshite interview. No wonder PL seems so annoyed at the moment.

Yes had it closed in May we wouldn't have had James Norwood, result.ipswichtownNo1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 8:29 pmMay as well have closed in May. So you prefer Harrison who scored about zero last season to Norwood who was the country's top scorer ?

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
No need for a debate this one. Harrison will go on to score goals and could score more goals the Norwood this season, but Norwood has a better all round game from what I have seen. He has very clever movement and is always on the move in and around the box. It’s pretty obvious imo. Take Garbutts goal for example, Norwood carried on chasing the ball all the way into the net. All top strikers have this type of moment.

Look at how many of that Birmingham team played last weekend or will play this. Count their total championship appearances....! Their team was like ours that played palace 2 seasons back...ipswichtownNo1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 10:40 pmOr sold ellis who scored 2 against a championship side this week, result for pompeyBluemike wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 10:28 pmYes had it closed in May we wouldn't have had James Norwood, result.ipswichtownNo1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 8:29 pm

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
I’d put money on Norwood being comfortably ahead of Harrison in the goals scored column this season.
We met Harrison at the Forest game, and he was a lovely man, who clearly didn’t like being injured. He kicked every ball that day from the stands. His time with us was not to be. And I wish him well in his Football. But in Norwood I really do feel we have an exceptional all round striker at this level, and hopefully at Championship level next season too.

Ohhh now i see why we are in league 1. Hurst signed a load of league one players whilst we were in the championship which really means we wernt a championship club , just a league 1 side playing in the championship.AylesburyBlue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 8:25 amLook at how many of that Birmingham team played last weekend or will play this. Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
Having both Norwood and Harrison would have been a good thing for us. That could have been a deadly duo at this level. Selling Harrison seems so puzzling as he's been a proven League One striker while we are in the need of a new one. And we've sold him to one of leagues favouritesipswichtownNo1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 10:52 pm, really?? Im sure there must me someone in the local league who scored more than norwood and aguero. If Norwood gets injured that would cause problems for us.

But that’s exactly what Hurst made us over a 4 week summer period with his 11 League One (predominantly ) signings. None of whom had any Championship experience. He even sent out on loan some of our youngsters who did have experience . Unbelievable really . But all water under the bridge as they say now .

r.e. that Evans topic is unbelievable. What the f*ck are people doing with their time, seriously, been as busy as hell the last twelve hours and then you take glance of that. Would have responded on there in it's rightful place, (but) lo and behold it's now been terminated.
On more relevant ground, realized today were the final happenings for transfer activity. Now, I wasn't aware what's occurred regards ourselves but TWTD suggests it's been quiet and nothing of real significance came to pass. Can understand it, we don't have the money to properly compete and must have maximized all available loans. Guess a case of don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

I'm thankful to Frosty and the mods for not making this a forum where every disagreement closes a thread, but that was just going round in circles!
Back on topic, my 2p, I was surprised to see Harrison go, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he out-scores any of our lot this year, but maybe he wouldn't have done the same here, he must have had a very sour spell here with injury and relegation, fresh start for everyone.
Oh and Mr Jude, I believe our transfer window runs until at least the end of the month, so continue to watch this uninspiring space.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
If it's so obvious to us that Harrison shouldn't have been sold then why was he sold? That's what we should be asking ourselves? Why can't PL & ME see that?
As is often the case it does look to me that something that we don't know about was the reason. Sometimes we keyboard warriors just have to accept that those who work for the club have a bit more info than we do
LONs recent statements do give hope that there will be a replacement before the end of the window on Sept 2nd. Let's reserve judgement until then. I wouldn't be surprised if PL is looking for a different type of striker than Harrison but then I'm just guessing too

I agree DB, it could just be the player himself didn't want to stay either, but as you say those within the club know better than any of us do.

I was sorry to see Harrison go as I think with the right support he is a good player at this level. But these things happen and as has been said we will probably never k ow the reason.
I did say many months ago that the problem of thinning the squad and reducing the wage bill is that once all those at the end of contract have been released, the only others you can get off the wage bill are those who someone else wants.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
Barring injuries, Harrison didn't take his opportunity to make an impression. I would think if Lambert really wanted Harrison to stay, he would have. Lambert's criticism of ME seems directed to players coming in, not players going out.
