Stevie Ray Vaughan. In an era dominated by the pop rock which has come to define the 80s, and the Heavy Metal scene, it is amazing Stevie could have some blues hits on the radio during that time.
Now that I am a little older and know more about the guitar since I dabble with it for personal relaxation, he was simply elite. I can just sit and listen to this whole concert over and over.

I tended to avoid really poppy pop unless if was really well.played (although I did buy a Paul Young album for 50p this afternoon!)
Was never really into heavy metal. I like really talented incentive guitarists like SRVaughn whereas a log of heavy metal was (to my ears) repetitive riffs and inventive. I'd listen to blues (or folk or jazz) over heavy rock any day.

No, not my sort of thing. I was just watching this.

Tommy Emmanuel playing lead, rhythm and bass simultaneously on one guitar. He can play any style.

I like to play the ukelele also, but when you tell people that they immediately think of that ridiculous Tiptoe Through the Tulips song. This guy in this video is amazing.

That Hall & Oates one was great. It had me for 20 seconds thinking what is this, before I twigged.

Re: What are you listening to?
For some reason imbeds either no longer operate here or go by the wayside after soon submitting them. Don't know what the issue is, maybe one for the tech team but point being caught a listen of this just recent. Released 1985 and you got to be of an age to appreciate what music once was, nothing like the garbage they produce in this day and age. Even bet not many have ever heard this but once again it's for different generations / eras etc.

Loved that song back in the 70s, 9
When watching that though, and singing along to the lyrics on screen, I can't help but sing (instead of telephone line) "Oh Oh Wifi connection!"

Re: What are you listening to?
Yep, heard that earlier on the radio. Sad News. Brings back memories of many High School dances.
RIP, Ric.

Drive by the Cars reminds me of Band Aid/ Live Aid. I found it a bit weird at the time when they were showing videos of starving Ethiopians to the soundtrack of Drive.... I just thought don’t they just need food .... and not a lift. Good song and how quickly time flies. RIP Rik.

Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Junior, saw the movie on release. They did a re-boot with an all female cast a year or two back ? Least said the better.
Just waiting for #1 (chart hits of 1984) not sure what it can be. Stevie Wonder of all things, the radio is now going off.
