They are young so they will play without fear, they will raise there game because they are at home and playing Town. So we don't want PL trying to be clever with his tactics and the players he picks. Yes Bolton are there for the taking but we all know how many times Town have come unstuck while playing supposedly inferior opposition. So lets go there with the strongest side possible and get the 3 points and hopefully a few goals and a clean sheet.
Lambert will have a very uncomfortable press conference if this game is a draw.

Bolton drew 0-0 in their only home game against Coventry this season. Maybe not a foregone conclusion.marko69 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 7:05 am^^^ Yep ^^^derick_ipsw wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 6:27 amPL must take this game very seriously and not under estimate a weak Bolton playing squad. I can see Lambert resting players. I think Chambers will be back and maybe Woolf and Downes / Skuse will be rested. It’s a new concept for Town that we go into some games expecting to win and win handsomely, especially after last season. I’m with Derrick that we put out our strongest side possible. If we’re well ahead after 60 minutes then you can start resting certain players. It’s still August and we’re looking to rest players from the start. Not sure it was wise to put both Dozzell and El Mizouni into the starting line-up against Wimbledon.

Wee cuz, Pete from Coventry......, (and please no one on this forum take offence, but his loving family nickname is “English bstd Pete”..... “Scottish ten belly fat Cnut Marko” in return; he wins I think) ...... was furious after that game. Similar furiousness-ness on here if 3 points don’t go back to Portman Road.

Well if we cant beat Bolton's Kids team by 5 or more goals, then we certainly have a problem, and I'm deadly serious, we should get a hatful of goals,

If Mike ain’t travelling, hopefully still get an attending fans match review of this from the Tony Macron-i stadium. Correct me if I’m wrong but this must be a more local game for you, MPB?
And if you’re going, Deeko..... let’s read a new “Deeko Boy” match review.
Snippet:
“..... Bolton’s first cross into the box was met by Tomas Holys fist, and it’s a good job as Chambers looked like he was checking out the fat b*stard Bolton fans at the ever growing queue at the pie stall and wondering if there’d be any steak pies left at HT.......”

It's really weird not being there today I have to say, so yes a good unbiased account from someone attending would be appreciated.

Re: Bolton Wanderers vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Did anyone notice the subtle “Bolton’s first cross in the box” was close to half time in Deeko’s hypothetical review?

I don’t think Pep had time to organise that, AB...... too busy brushing up on his “refereeing” skills as he’s officiating the Bolton v Ipswich match today.

It's an ideal game to do it, makes perfect sense.

Should be out of sight by now. Norwood should have had four goals already. Didn’t agree with penalty decision. Very lucky with that one.

Whether it were fortunate or not we've had a fair share of decisions against us so take any bonuses that come our way. Can't view the game and or listen but stats would indicate we're good value for a lead. Bolton must be some pretty inferior opposition at present time, it's a shame and all but their loss is others gain.
The team could be in first position by end of game if other scores go our way but not getting ahead of oneself just yet.

f*ck is it really three now, just got a second goal a moment ago, this could something of a standout victory.
Yes Jackson with it, I feel genuine sympathy for the opposition, it's hard not to. But for us this is a fine game and something to get involved in. Further goals should arrive for us, would be very surprised if that's the end of scoring.

It's not often I participate as regular during games but 4 - 0 now ? Seriously, this is worth keeping up with. How poor must Bolton be ? Very rarely in recent time has it been enjoyable / able to be part of a game but taking this opportunity to revel if that is the operative word in what's occurring.
