Re: Who played here.
Been there (Elland Road) many times John although the first time must have been quite a few years after that picture was taken. That said I’m pretty sure the main stand hadn’t changed much in 1975 when I watched Town draw 1-1 in an FA Cup QF replay on a Tuesday Night where Town were denied a win by Duncan McKenzie scoring a 90th minute equaliser.
Even better was two weeks later when Town played Leeds United twice in the space of three days at Filbert Street Leicester, first game drawing 0-0 before winning 3-2 on a Thursday night when 17yr old John Wark made his debut. Luckily I was working in Leicester at the time and was able to go to both games thanks to Towns Charlie Woods who got me tickets for both matches.
I can remember those games as if it were last week.....although I can’t remember what I was doing last week!
Only joking, I was playing golf in Biarritz, that was easy to remember.

my wife ( Leeds fan ) went to all those cup ties, remember getting talked into driving her there for a Leeds v Spartak Moscow in the Champions League. late 90s, not one of my favourite grounds.

I think I can spot Charnwoods divots on the pitch.

Re: Who played here.
It looks like Filbert Street, Leicester City to me.
I’ve been there many time not only to watch Ipswich but to watch a City too, the stadium was there for the first six of my 20 years living in Leicestershire so I guess I have an unfair advantage.
I think you’ll find that’s the easy ones done for me now John....
Elland Road, - I lived in Leeds for 4 years.
Highbury - We had a Company Box at Highbury behind the goal which I used many times.
Filbert Street - I worked for one of the Clubs Sponsors so went there many times too.
I think the next ones will be more challenging although the 70’s and 80’s were the years when I visited the most grounds.

Re: Who played here.
It’s actually in better condition than half of NZ’s rugby grounds just out of interest.
