I'm afraid it's symptomatic of the world in general. It's like Amazon smashing all opposition to the detriment of the high street. It's like the rich individuals getting richer while the poor use food banks. The rich make the rules and the poor will wither and die..whether it's football clubs, shops or individual people. Very sad but inevitable.

There are issues at both ends of the spectrum though. There are the very large corporates that are indeed getting richer in this relatively new internet era.Andym wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 11:22 pmI'm afraid it's symptomatic of the world in general. But there are people out there with their fingers up their fat arses, in Greggs buying pies, eating them in their mobility cars in the disabled spaces, claiming benefits that the tax-payer pays for. Works both ways. The rich are NOT to blame for how things pan out.

Agree, there's no morals these days, Thatcher and Blair taught people how to become mega rich at other peoples expense.Andym wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 11:22 pmI'm afraid it's symptomatic of the world in general. The difference between Thatcher and Blair is that one stuck up for her country while the other is a war criminal

Although I agree with Blair and his buddy Bush should be doing time for war crimes, I cant agree with Thatcher.
if the elections were not coming up and her popularity going down hill, she would never have gone to war with the Argies right or wrongly,
Also you should ask the thousands of miners and other industries and communities she destroyed, what there opinion is.
plus she should have served time for sending her thugs up north to destroy the miners and protesters with GBH.
Then ask the many Road and Tunnel companies down south why a fairly unknown northern company moved all there plant down to the South East before the tenders went out, for the New M25 and the Channel Tunnel. the northern company just happened to win both contracts, cant see it anything to do with a Mr Dennis Thatcher being a director, surely not aye.
the only thing she stuck up was two fingers to this great country
Thatcher still your hero Mike.

Must admit, as a struggling Scottish apprentice gas heating engineer, Mrs Thatcher did make things a whole lot better with her experimental Poll Tax idea on Scotland. She basically f*cked up my (and thousands others) teenage years. When you think back to those days, it’s mind-blowing what she did to industry. Prime ministers / presidents / dictators have been assassinated for way less.
Anyway, this thread has become politics in the football area. Might be an idea to move this over to “off topic”.
