Netflix recommendations during quarantine

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

Last night watched a film called Contagion. Made 2011 mirrors everything we are going through. Started in Hong Kong.
Amazing coincidences.

That virus is just engulfing this planet.

Re Tiger King....... there is no doubt Joe Exotic is a severely unbalanced individual....... but Carol Baskin and partner are bad news as well. Couple oā€™ dodgy bastards.

2016 Scottish Cup win aside, itā€™s like following Hibs being a Sunderland fan. Can relate to their grief. Good series, enjoyed it.

Shameless has been a fav of mine for quite some time. You really have to have an open mind though. It will make you laugh, make you cry, make you horny, make you completely turned off; but, the writing and acting are brilliant. William H Macy is the best!

No 9, Is season 3 any good?

I enjoyed Ozark for the first season and a half, but Iā€™m struggling to finish Season 2. Too many of the best characters are getting killed off and the ones left are getting annoying. Is it worthwhile pursuing ? What a hard business this lockdown is.

I'm enjoying it Tang, I'm on episode 4. It will never be as good as the first season, but I love the plot and the acting is pretty good.

It says season 1 so unless they bring in new characters for season 2 I would say 1 season only.

I was a bit late in watching STID (part 1 was out a long time ago), but Iā€™m hooked. Really well-made documentary. So much so that you can get really behind another club, even if you donā€™t like them. Nearly at the end of season 2 and fans are heading to Wembley for the play-off final against Charlton. Full of expectation..... but we all know how it ends.
I have to say it also adds in an interesting perspective from the ownerā€™s point of view. Deadline day when they paid way over the odds for Grigg literally at the last minute shows the craziness and desperation that can grip these people. Great documentary.

Just finished watching Waco on Netflix. It probably means more to me than most since I've lived in Texas more than 20 years. However, the extremes in religion and law enforcement are both hard to conceive. Several British citizens were members of the Branch Davidians, surprisingly.

Thanks. I think thatā€™ll be my next one.

I also enjoyed Dont f*ck with Cats and The Confession Killer .... if real-life murder documentaries are your thing. America seems to leading the way with crazy, f*cked up people.

If you do watch the staircase, let me know your opinion on guilty/non guilty. Iā€™m 100% one way on this but Iā€™ll not say until later.

There are two listed over here, I assume it is the 2020 version with the wife named Corinne? I do like mysteries.

That whole thing pissed me off when it happened. Not real sure why they had to go in, personally.

Marko, you said the Staircase was good? I watched the Oasis show and liked it a lot. I would also recommend Veronica, it was pretty good.

Great to see you posting, Ohio. I hope all is well with you and family.

I thought the staircase was very good indeed. Had me gripped from the start. Worth it IMO.
The oasis doc is brilliant. šŸ‘

Just finished the staircase - thought it was brilliant.

DISCLAIMER ALERT

I did think Mike Peterson was not guilty, but an episode and a half in I was convinced he was guilty. . The wounds on his wifeā€™s head didnā€™t really look like she just slipped down some stairs and then when it was revealed that Mike was bisexual and was having some fun with male prostitutes - that really tore apart the picture of a blissful marriage. I thought things would unravel more and more and darker secrets would emerge.
But over the course of the trial you see how pathetic, corrupt and shoddy the prosecution were. Some of those ā€˜expertsā€™ were taken apart by the defence. And that female deputy DA was evil - i couldnt believe she was allowed to make her summation to the jury the way she did. Focusing mainly on Mikeā€™s bum-banditry, rather than proving he killed his wife.
Basically, the burden is on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt - but they came across as unprofessional and corrupt. At that stage, Peterson should have been acquitted, even though Iā€™m not 100% he was innocent.
Canā€™t say Candace came across well - one very bitter, obsessed woman. I think if Mike hadnā€™t been playing around outside his marriage - especially with other men - she would have been on his side. I canā€™t believe she was allowed to speak in a courtroom the way she did. Very prejudicial.
And the ending when he had to do a deal was nothing to do with justice, but just to spare the reputation of the judicial system and so he and his family could finally get some peace.
