What are you listening to?

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

Heya Frosty. Been ridiculously busy over here, and with Town in League 1 it is a little harder to follow. Here's hoping to better times ahead for them!

OK Marko, was just listening to Faster Pussycat and Slip of the Tongue.

That band was RIPPING it back in the day

Finally getting round to playing North Circular by The Bevis Frond. It's the first new (as opposed to second hand) vinyl I've bought in about 30 years. Its a triple album in glorious blue vinyl.

"The Bevis Frond's influences were strongly rooted in the '60s, as Nick Saloman's music blended elements of psychedelia, pop, early hard rock, and folk, with plenty of epic-scale guitar soloing laid over the top as he sang his lyrics that leaned to the pastoral and the engagingly addled." (quote from Allmusic.com). Anyone else ever heard of them?

Not til you brought them up Andy. From what I have listened to, to me they have a mix of the springy 90s pop guitar and a grungy/Tom Petty undertone

Tonight I've been listening/watching Martin Simpson, live at the John Peel Centre, Stowmarket. Truly amazing.

What was this 1992 or something, how can music (now) become so sh*t in such a comparatively short space of time.

Apparently Dave Mustaine wrote Enter Sandman way before the debut Kill Em All album? Any truth in this? Not read the biography...... might find time in the next few weeks though.

Just watched the Jonny Cash biopic - Walk the Line.

I liked the "Fitbaw" in the vid above lol. What town was that in the vid?

Listening to Out of the Cellar by Ratt. There is an add playing over here for insurance that has a couple in a new house with rat problems, and it has the band playing "Round and Round" all over the house. Made me pull out the album, forgot how good it was.

Goosebumps by Ian Lloyd
The smoker you drink by Joe Walsh
Live Sky by Crack The Sky.

Then I thought I'd try The Wall again. No. Still think it's utter sh*te. Give me Piper st the gates of dawn any day.

Marko, what did andy just say? Can't get into The Wall? I need a moment....

.........

...

Ozzy and Ratt would be an awesome show, no doubt! And Edinburgh looks freaking awesome! I need to get over there soon. Actually, I have 24 months left and then I am making a tour of the UK as a retirement gift to myself.

I would show pics of Columbus, Ohio but I feel you would be bored.

The one and only person who I've heard saying The Wall is shyte. I suppose I should understand. I think the Beatles are utter shyte and that gets some looks.

Yes, home is where the heart lies. And Stotty who made that vdeo charny posted is a big hibee. That's why you only see Easter Road in it.

Much like the proclaimers song "Edinburgh" last year........, only hibees were portrayed.

Must suck being a jambofuckwit. And covid19 looks like it's relegating them. Shame really.

Hopefully meet up for a few beers up town when you make it over here, Ohio. If this virus ever goes away that is.

Think I could do any Van Halen song on karaoke without the need for words on the TV. Won’t sound great, but the words would be correct.

Had the Van Halen back catalogue on repeat since EVH passed.

RIP EVH.... legend, genius....., and other words that don’t describe you well enough 🤘🤘🤘
