Looks great, bring back the UEFA cup badge is a great touch. Nearly in tears watching the video.
Let’s hope it’s not too much of a burden for our young players to carry.

Yep good point. If it’s 40 years anniversary, they should be white.

That's a newsflash to me, Hallam. Never realised there was ever a yellow ITFC shirt.hallamblue wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 4:52 pm
Would actually love to see Town return to the classic away kit of pale yellow shirts with blue trim and blue shorts and yellow socks. It was like the kit Arsenal wore against us in the FA Cup final .

I notice they haven’t got the three stars above the badge. Anyone know if that’s been binned?

Town didn’t have any stars on the 1980/81 shirt Tang . It’s meant to commemorate the kit we wore for the UEFA Cup final .tangfastic wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 5:58 pmI notice they haven’t got the three stars above the badge. Anyone know if that’s been binned?
And the kit ( badge) is being used as a one off for this season only . So guess we will return to our normal badge the season after next .

I don't really like that shirt Derick, got a bloody cupboard full similar looking ones for the NZ National team and they are absolute magnets for tomato sauce from Hotdogs and split beer.

Carers Trust ? What happened with Marcus Evans. Not sure about the new sponsor could take some time to get used to. Doubtless going to cost a pretty penny to purchase while as always manufactured at a snip of the cost, times have been tight recently you wonder how many will be able - or willing - to afford forty, fifty pounds for another new design.
Says the UEFA Cup mention is only for one season, stands to reason as next year is forty years on from the one and only European honor. Wouldn't want to see it on display for the mainstay. Some would view it particularly neutral observers as living in the past to some extent. 1981 was all very well but what has the club achieved since back then.
Maybe I'd concentrate on the present and time ahead than reminiscing about distant achievements that may never be replicated. You can't compare a European win in Amsterdam with an end of season setback at Tranmere Rovers or wherever the team finds itself when the time arises. Not so much being critical but basing events on where we're at. Need to enquire when the new season even gets underway, everything's been turned on it's head guess we're back again in August, team couldn't be bothered to finish out it's remaining games just recent but you can view the reasoning behind it.

The yellow & blue is my favourite kit. I had the uniform...and the Subbuteo team.

Or. Maybe....., its good to actually have something to reminisce upon. It's a great history for a club, who in comparison with the big guns, is relatively small.saint jude wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 1:08 amMaybe I'd concentrate on the present and time ahead than reminiscing about distant achievements that may never be replicated.
Still think I'm dreaming with this. Obviously no "colour predjudice" (bad issue at the moment) in East Anglia. My God, if the green side of the 'Burgh rocked up in maroon <------- fking sack that!
By the way, I've purchased the top and shorts. The badge is just too good. The top for leisure & shorts for playing 5"s in. £77 inc postage. Eternal thanks for the thread, Deeko Boy.

Hot dogs and beer on the front instead of Carers Trust works for me.Frosty wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 10:13 pmderick_ipsw wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 9:02 pmhttps://www.classicfootballshirts.co.uk ... -boys.html I hope this is the away shirt.

I really like it and wish they’d bring it back . But I doubt they will . It’s from the 1970’s I think . Interesting that a few of the boys on here had it as their fav too. I think it’s a classic strip tbh .marko69 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 12:51 amThanks for that Hallam. Can see the shirt clear there and on TalBot further down the link. Never seen that shirt in my life. SJ, the sponsors Magical Vegas have “ gifted” the local Charity “ Carers Trust”, the last year of their sponsorship deal as a mark I’d respect to the frontline caters in the UK in the wake of CoVid. We ( like many Clubs) will also be having a “ Thank You” to the NHS somewhere on the shirt this season too .
Hope that helps .

Re: New Town Home Shirt for 20/21 season
Yeah, I know that the stars weren’t on the 81 shirt, but I don’t think the stars have anything to do with a particular shirt or a badge - they’ve been there for years on all styles of shirts. So they could easily stick them on this shirt. I’d be in favour of leaving off the stars - make the current players earn the right to wear them if they want them back. We all know our glory days and it was legendary players from the past who earned them, not the current players.hallamblue wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 9:03 pmTown didn’t have any stars on the 1980/81 shirt Tang . Have to agree with you Tang. Maybe it’s almost an acceptance that it was all in the past. History is a fine thing ( if you’ve got it), but there comes a point where we have to look forward and not dwell on it anymore.

Something Town fans are incapable of doing I am afraid to say, we all love our history but the truth is it is like a ton weight around the necks of recent squads.hallamblue wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 3:14 pmHave to agree with you Tang. Re: New Town Home Shirt for 20/21 season
No worries putting a pic on here when I get the shirt & shorts......., if anything, to prove my belly ain't as small as that guys, Deeko Boy!!
I do not like the stars either and certainly wouldn't want them back on the shirts. Nothing to do with making players earn them......, just think they look very crap.
